Repair American Roads and Bridges One in five miles, or 173,000 total miles, of our highways and major roads are in poor condition, as well as 45,000 bridges. Delays caused by traffic congestion alone cost over $160 billion per year, and motorists are forced to pay over $1,000 every year in wasted time and fuel. The President is proposing a total increase of $115 billion to modernize the bridges, highways, roads, and main streets that are in most critical need of repair. This includes funding to improve air quality, limit greenhouse gas emissions, and reduce congestion. His plan will modernize 20,000 miles of highways, roads, and main streets, not only “fixing them first” but “fixing them right,” with safety, resilience, and all users in mind. It will fix the most e...

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton left quite the musical legacy behind before the all-star couple got divorced in 2015. In a new Apple Music interview, Lambert opened up about her 2012 Hot Country Songs No. 1 “Over You,” which she co-wrote with her then-husband. The song’s lyrics were about the automobile-accident death of Shelton’s older brother Richie in 1990 when he was just 24 years old. Lambert recalled the “special moment” of being able to help Shelton and his family heal through the song, which also won song of the year at both the CMA Awards and the ACM Awards Shelton, who is credited as the only songwriter on Pistol Annies‘ 2011 debut album Hell on Heels outside the members themselves (Lambert, ...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: ORLANDO SIERRA / Getty The president of Honduras will have to keep the same energy when it comes to the law and his family. Juan Orlando Hernandez’s brother just got booked for running a drug organization. As spotted on Raw Story, Juan Orlando Hernandez’s sibling was hit with his natural life in jail for his alleged participation in an international drug ring. Back in October 2019 Tony Hernandez, 42, was found guilty of four very serious counts of trafficking including conspiring to bring cocaine into the United States, possession of rapid fire rifles and lying under oath. What makes the story even more shocking is that Tony was also a former politician as well serving as a congressman in the South American country. “This is state-sponsored drug...
It looks like Space Laces may have something up his sleeve. The famed producer took the electronic music world by storm earlier in the month of March when he dropped the third installment of his patented “Vaultage” series. Long championed as one of the most technically gifted producers and sound designers in the bass music scene, Space Laces delivered a typically mind-blowing audiovisual mix in “Vaultage 003.” An expert of sound manipulation and mixing, his grasp on DAWs (digital audio workstations) is savant-like, and he has a profound ability to harness their power to reshape modern approaches to music production. He seems to have brought attention to that idea in “Vaultage 003” not only with the music itself, but also by way of a s...
Former Misfits singer Michale Graves is a potential witness in a possible Capitol insurrection trial after joining the Proud Boys last year. According to Reuters, Graves (real name Michael Emanuel) was in Washington, D.C. on January 6th — the day of the riot — to play a private concert organized by a group called “Latinos for Trump” on the request of a fellow Proud Boys member. Graves told Reuters that he didn’t think the Proud Boys were capable of participating in the attack that left five people dead, including a D.C. police officer. “These guys have a hard time getting an order together for McDonalds,” Graves said of the Proud Boys in the new interview. One of the defendants charged with the insurrection conspiracy and prominent Proud Boy member Ethan “Rufio” Nordean said in a court fil...
POND are back. The Australian psych-rock weirdos have just released “Pink Lunettes”, their first new song in two years, along with a hazy, lo-fi music video. Stream it below. “Pink Lunettes” takes an unexpected twist compared to the band’s 2019 album Tasmania. Over relentless drumming and retro synth swells, POND do their best to get your blood pumping with hectic dance-punk that brings to mind LCD Soundsystem mixed with Suicide. It’s chaotic and manic, but it suits POND well, and they don’t lose their stride at any point across the track’s four-minute-long runtime. That feeling is all the more drawn out in the song’s music video, too. Directed by Jamie Terry, the clip peppers purple strobe lights around frontman Nick Allbrook as he sings along, karaoke-style, to the lyrics sprawled across...
Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream and Jehnny Beth of Savages have announced a new collaborative album called Utopian Ashes. The project is due out July 2nd via Third Man Records, but today they’re sharing its lead single “Remember We Were Lovers”. There’s a 22-year age gap between the alt-rock icon and the post-punk frontwoman, but the two were introduced through an institution from yet another generation: Suicide. The pair met when they both asked to perform with the now-defunct synth-punk legends at the Barbican Conservatory in 2015, and the following year Beth ended up joining Primal Scream for a live duet of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood’s “Some Velvet Morning.” The two hit it off and started writing a record together in 2017 alongside Beth’s close collaborator Johnny Hostile and...
