While Lovato was hosting the 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards in November, Lovato joked, “So I did what everyone else did: I went into lockdown mode and got engaged.” The joke didn’t go over well with Ehrich, who accused her of “exploiting our breakup for clout” in the comments section of one of her Instagram posts debuting her blond haircut. In one of the songs from her upcoming album Dancing With the Devil… The Art of Starting Over titled “15 Minutes,” Lovato flips the script on Ehrich. “Good riddance — you got your 15 minutes,” she sings on what EW describes as a “savagely upbeat banger.” “I really had myself fooled, because it was the safe and expected thing,” Lovato told t...
Enter his instantly iconic and subdued (for him, at least) cover of the unsettling song. Lambert opted for the slowed-down Gary Jules and Michael Andrews version of the tune — as featured on 2001’s Donnie Darko soundtrack — as opposed to the 1982 synth-pop original, sprinkling the somber song with some unexpected note choices, especially his ending wail. The buzzy performance helped carry Lambert all the way to the finale, where he finished in the runner-up slot to Kris Allen, and Adam has found success as a solo singer as well as touring with Queen in the decade-plus since. For Clarkson’s new take, she borrows a bit from both versions, opting for the slower tempo of the newer cover but adding some heavy drums and guitars at the end that recall the peppier...
Like so much of the news cycle these days, the origin of Osbourne’s on-air demise is Meghan Markle’s barn-burning interview with Oprah Winfrey — in which the Duchess of Sussex alleged racist behavior within the British Royal Family. Media firebrand and perennial martyr Piers Morgan called Markle a liar on Good Morning Britain, stormed off the set and ultimately quit the ITV program as many regarded his comments as racist. When Osbourne came to his defense on The Talk, the discourse quickly devolved. At one point, and most damningly, she demanded that Underwood, a Black woman, explain to her why Morgan was being called a racist. “Educate me, tell me when you have heard him say racist things,” Osbourne said. “I very much feel like I’m a...
Dark Americana artist Amigo the Devil has returned with another chilling tale, “Murder at the Bingo Hall”. The track is from the Austin singer-songwriter’s forthcoming sophomore album, Born Against, arriving April 16th. Once again, Amigo the Devil assumes the role of a grim storyteller, weaving a tongue-in-cheek tale of bloodshed in the most unlikely of places. As the temper of the paranoid bingo-playing protagonist grows fiercer with each passing number, the song careens to a climactic, violent conclusion. Amigo the Devil, aka Danny Kiranos, has become one of Americana’s rising acts thanks to his brand of entertaining narrative songwriting. Think Marty Robbins’ Gunfighter Ballads channeled through the grim post-modernism and black humor of Breaking Bad. Holding to the folk-music conventio...
Dead Can Dance have announced new tour dates for Fall 2021. The itinerary is technically a rescheduled North American run that was originally slated to begin in April 2020, but was obviously postponed due to the pandemic. As long as the vaccine rollout goes as planned, the Australian goth/experimental veterans are hoping to kick off the tour on October 1st in San Diego and then travel all throughout the country — and up to Vancouver, BC and Toronto, ON — before concluding in Seattle on October 25th. The run includes stops in Denver, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, San Francisco, and elsewhere, so it’s a pretty comprehensive trek across the Northern half of the continent. This will be the first time the duo of Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard will return to North America since their 2013 ...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz83 HyperX’s Cloud II headset has been the company’s workhorse for 6 years and has seen minimal updates since then. So how does the latest iteration of the headset stand up to newer models from other companies? Surprisingly very well. When it comes to the Cloud II, HyperX has taken the if ain’t broke, don’t fix it approach with the headset model only dropping other various models with the Cloud handle like the Cloud Mix, Cloud Orbit S, and Cloud Alpha S. For this most recent design HyperX got a little bold and decided it was time to cut the cord. We are ecstatic the company has decided to go this route and dropped the Hyper X Cloud II Wireless. HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz After his untimely passing Nipsey Hussle became a symbol of hope. Unfortunately a group of entrepreneurs tried to cash in on his name with no care for his legacy. As spotted on TMZ the estate of the California MC have finally settled a lingering matter with the owner of a business entity that shares the same namesake of his former street gang. Last year Crips LLC, yes that is the official name of the company, attempted to trademark the phrase “The Marathon Continues”. Obvious this slogan has become synonymous with Nip but they threw that care out the window by submitting the required documentation to legally register the term. Naturally the filing landed on the estate’s radar prompting them to file an injunction a...
