Mrs. Doubtfire Director Confirms There is No NC-17 Version of the Film

Mrs. Doubtfire On Thursday, a viral tweet started making rounds suggesting that there was an unreleased NC-17 cut of the Robin Williams film Mrs. Doubtfire. The post was sourced from a 2015 interview with director Chris Columbus, but now he’s clarified in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly that he was being hyperbolic. In the original interview, Columbus said that because Williams improvised so much on set, there were enough unreleased takes to string together PG, PG-13, R, and NC-17 cuts of the film. The film follows a divorced actor (Williams) who disguises himself as a female nanny to spend time with his kids, and the version that was released in 1993 ended up being rated PG-13. On Friday, Columbus told EW that there isn’t an NC-17 version of the film, which would ...

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Share Concert Footage From Recent Australian Gig : Watch

Ready for some serious FOMO? King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have shared a new performance video of them playing to a live audience in Australia last month. Dubbed Live In Melbourne ’21, the hour-and-a-half-long set was professionally shot at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on February 26th. For music fans in the US and Europe, the idea of a band performing to a crowd in a 10,000-capacity venue seems like a far-off fantasy right now, but those types of events are happening all over Australia right now. The entire continent has suffered less than 1,000 COVID deaths since the pandemic began, while the US experienced over 1,500 deaths yesterday alone. Fortunately for our sake, the Melbourne-based psych-rock act are giving us a taste of what we can return to when this catastrophe fin...

Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer to Be Held Without Bail Until Trial

Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer will be held without bail until the trial for his role in the Capitol riot commences. As Indiana news station WUSA-9 reports, a federal judge gave the ruling during Schaffer’s bail hearing on Friday. The guitarist is facing six charges for his involvement in the insurrection on Jan. 6, which includes engaging in an act of physical violence in a Capitol building after allegedly assaulting a Capitol officer with bear spray. Schaffer’s attorney, Marc Victor, argued that his client admitted he “used bad judgment” by attending the riots and wished he had a “do-over.” He also pointed out that Schaffer had no prior convictions and posed no danger to the community. <!– // Brid Player Singles. var _bp = _bp||[]; _bp.push({ “div”: “Brid_...

deadmau5 Shares Preview of Massive Unreleased Electro Track

It seems deadmau5 is busy in the studio. After revealing a new collaboration with REZZ called “Hypnocurrency” earlier this week, he has now taken to social media to share a preview of another unreleased track. The clip is relatively short, but fans can hear the gritty electro flair of a signature deadmau5 track. It also offers up a taste of the song’s vocals, belted by a singer whose name is yet to be announced. However, it sounds an awful lot like Lights, the superstar singer-songwriter and producer who teamed up with the mau5 back in 2018 for “Drama Free.” Nevertheless, it’s important to note that Lights has not been confirmed as the track’s vocalist. Check out the preview below, courtesy of deadmau5’s Instagram. While we’re unab...

Four months after his tragic death, tributes to i_o continue to flood the late artist’s Instagram page every single day, despite the account’s dormancy. “444 has been following me around,” one user wrote yesterday, March 18th. “I just wanted to say that I miss seeing your tweets and I miss you.” “This one doesn’t heal,” wrote another. “Listening right now and so thankful for your music, it helps me survive a world where I feel wholly unwanted,” reads a particularly poignant homage shared earlier this week. “Thanks for making what you felt, what we’ve all felt, and making it so genuine and pure. I’...

Greta Van Fleet are prepping for the release of their highly anticipated sophomore album, The Battle at Garden’s Gate, out April 16th. Now the band has shared the anthemic new single, “Broken Bells”. A coming-of-age song of sorts, the track again sees Greta Van Fleet expanding their sonic palette beyond the restrictive classic-rock pastiche of their debut record. The prog-like Rush influences and subtle folk flourishes add new colors to the band’s sound. For the third consecutive single, Greta Van Fleet push the song past the five-minute mark as they stretch their musical ideas. “Broken Bells is what the fetter of society does to impact a pure and innocent soul,” bassist Sam Kiszka said in a press release. “Our intention is to remove the obligation of generational synthetic expectations; b...

Hey, you? Is this 1996 Ferrari F50 yours? If so, the U.S. Attorney’s Office would like to speak with you. No, it’s not about that parking ticket … they want to give the F50 back to you. Remember how it was stolen 18 years ago? In Italy? The government thinks this is it. But before you raise your hand, know that this is headed to court … there’s another party who thinks they have rightful ownership. Let’s back up and explain. As The Buffalo News reports, back in 2003, a Ferrari F50 was stolen in Italy soon after it was purchased. Fast forward a bunch of years, and a Ferrari F50 is intercepted at the Canadian border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. They notice something a little fishy about the VIN plate, and after investigating further—and contacting Ferrari—CB...

First Spin: The Week’s Best New Dance Tracks From Baauer, Boys Noize, Sidepiece & More

Boys Noize & Kelsey Lu, “Ride or Die” feat. Chilly Gonzales When you think of Boys Noize, you probably think about pounding techno, acid disco, electro-hop and mind-melting modular synths. With “Ride or Die,” the German DJ and producer proves his prowess with emotional melodies. The Kelsey Lu collab builds off a melancholy harpsichord melody, originally recorded by pianist Chilly Gonzales on a spinet. The producer wanted to build a “big music contrast” around the recording, and the juxtaposition of the classical with the mechanical made him think of Lu, who he once saw shred on a cello patched through guitar pedals. Lu accepted the invitation, and when they got in the studio, Boys Noize says he felt “a rare, special energy.” “Like joining contrasting sounds to make something totally ne...
