#BRUHNews: Pooh Shiesty And Kodak Black Are Going At Each Other Over The Money Spread Pose

Source: (Photo by Johnny Louis/FilmMagic) / (Photo by Johnny Louis/FilmMagic) Have you ever wondered if rappers have too much time on their hands? Kodak Black and Pooh Shiesty are proving they clearly do. As spotted on HipHopDX the two performers are in the midst of a war of words; or rather social media posts. Apparently the man now known as Bill Kapri felt in a ways about the “Back In Blood” MC. In a recent post Kodak seemingly took a swipe at him by using his signature “blrrrd” adlib and claiming some of his peers are swagger jacking his “money spread” pose. Naturally this got back to the 1017 Records talent prompting him to respond to the veiled shot in a post and delete. “This shit here so lame too me lost all my respect @kodakblack,” he wrote. Kodak quickly retorted in typical Kodak ...

St. Vincent Reveals She Initially Planned on Making Tool-Inspired Album

St. Vincent (photo by David Brendan Hall) and Tool (photo by Kevin RC Wilson) St. Vincent mastermind Annie Clark recently detailed her new album, Daddy’s Home, describing it as inspired by “music made in New York from 1971-76.” As it turns out, the project almost had an entirely different sound. During an appearance on RADIO.COM’s New Arrivals with Bryce Segall, Clark revealed she initially planned on making a “heavy record” inspired by Tool. “The crazy thing about music is, you can plan and plan and think you’re gonna go one way, and then you start writing and the music just takes you wherever the music takes you,” she explained. “That was certainly the experience with this. I was dead set in my mind that after MASSEDUCTION, I was just gonna make this like, heavy record. Like just heavy t...

The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” Becomes First Song in History to Remain in Billboard Top 10 for a Whole Year

The Weeknd just made chart history. The Canadian superstar’s smash hit, “Blinding Lights”, is now the first song to ever spend an entire year in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Ever since the iconic singles chart was first established on August 4th, 1958, there’s never been a song that’s remained in the Top 10 for a full 52 weeks, until now. Sure, the artist born Abel Tesfaye didn’t get the Grammy nomination he was hoping for, but the enduring success of “Blinding Lights” is arguably a more historic feat. Interestingly, the After Hours single didn’t look like a runaway success when it was first unveiled. The Weeknd released the tune on November 29th, 2019 as the second single for his album rollout. However, it only debuted at No. 11 on the Hot 100 during its first week, and then it pl...

KISS’ Gene Simmons Explains Why He Keeps Saying “Rock Is Dead”

KISS singer-bassist Gene Simmons made headlines several years ago when he declared that “rock is finally dead.” He recently doubled down on that sentiment just before the band played a streaming New Year’s Eve show to ring in 2021. At the time of his initial statement in 2014, he explained in an Esquire feature, “Once you had a record company on your side, they would fund you, and that also meant when you toured they would give you tour support. … There are still record companies, and it does apply to pop, rap, and country to an extent. But for performers who are also songwriters — the creators — for rock music, for soul, for the blues — it’s finally dead.” Heavy Consequence recently checked in with the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer to discuss his new G² line of guitars with Gibson. At one...

Cardi B turned “bloody shoes” into a diamond on the wall. Her breakout single “Bodak Yellow” has been RIAA-certified diamond, making her the first female rapper to ever achieve the feat. The artist born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar teased fans with the news late last night by posting a video on Twitter. She had been working on her upcoming Grammys performance, she said, when she learned of an unplanned meeting with Atlantic Records. As she explained, “I’ve been rehearsing all day today, I’m really stressed out, my body’s aching. At rehearsal, they said to me, ‘Yo, you gotta meet up with Atlantic execs.’ I’m like, ‘Yo I’m fucking tired like I don’t wanna talk about no Grammys, I don’t wanna talk about no album, I’m just tired.’ And then I still got drove to a restaurant. St. Vincent Initially Aimed for a Tool-Like Heaviness for Her Latest Record

Last week, St. Vincent announced that she is going to released her new album, Daddy’s Home in May. In a new interview, Annie Clark recently revealed that the initial sonic goal for her most recent record was to create a super-heavy album. “Just heavy the whole time — like, ‘Hey kids, you like Tool? Well, you’ll love the St. Vincent record,’ you know?” That said, Clark found she had “nothing to say there” after working in that direction for a bit, and the ultimate result was Daddy’s Home, self-described as “music made in New York from 1971-76.” The LP drops May 14. <!– // Brid Player Singles. var _bp = _bp||[]; _bp.push({ “div”: “Brid_10143537”, “obj”: {“id”:”25115″,”width”:”480″...
