See all 81 photos While its name is different, the Qashqai’s bodywork will likely carry over almost completely unchanged to the new Rogue Sport, which we anticipate to reach our shores before the end of the year. That’s a good thing, too, as the Qashqai was and is a particularly handsome little SUV. Sporting Nissan’s latest design language, the 2022 Qashqai is an attractive-looking thing that combines various styling details from a multitude of Nissan products. The Qashqai’s kicked window line resembles that of the 2022 Nissan Ariya electric SUV’s, while its headlights share a resemblance to those of the 2021 Nissan Armada and 2022 Nissan Pathfinder SUVs. The smash hit and film helped transform Parton into a pop-culture star. After a chance encounter with Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda on a flight to New York helped Dolly Parton land a starring role in the 1980 female-empowerment comedy 9 to 5, the country music star found herself at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time with the film’s theme song of the same name. Parton wrote the tune to help pass time on set (as she found the pace of filming slower and less stimulating than that of a musical performer), and it topped the Hot Country Songs chart on Jan. 24, 1981, and the Hot 100 on Feb. 21. It became only the second song by a female artist to lead both lists, after Jeannie C. Riley’s “Harper Valley P.T.A.” in 1968. At the 24th annual Grammy Awards, “9...
“Gasoline” isn’t the first time Haim have teamed up musically with Taylor. Haim are featured on Swift’s Evermore, on the murder-mystery country track “No Body, No Crime.” Este, Danielle and Alana were more than happy to welcome their pal into the fold, writing in a tweet, “Since we released wimpiii in June, Taylor had always told us that ‘Gasoline’ was her favorite. So when we were thinking about ways to reimagine some of the tracks from the record, we immediately thought of her. She brought such amazing ideas and new imagery to the song and truly gave it a new life. Thank you @taylorswift for adding your incredible voice and spirit to a track that means so much to us.” The four musketeers weren’t the only ones lov...
Hole frontwoman Courtney Love recently revealed that she’d stopped acting — something she said she loved doing — because of “a bunch of #MeToo” incidents. While she had memorable moments in 1986’s Sid & Nancy, Love’s first major role was in 1996’s The People vs. Larry Flynt, which earned her a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination for playing Althea Leasure Flynt. Subsequently, Love appeared in films including in 200 Cigarettes, Julie Johnson, Man on the Moon and Trapped. But she stepped away from the screen for a time, as she detailed in an Instagram post. Love writes, “For a few years, because of Milos Forman, I was a professional actress and a movie star. It was fun as hell. I was nominated for best actress, for a Golden Globe. One day I might talk about i...

Flux Pavilion‘s remarkable new album .wav arrived over six years after its predecessor, but he is wasting no time to produce its follow-up. The bass music virtuoso recently took to Twitter to announce that he has already begun the writing process for .wav Pt 2. “Time to write .wav pt2,” he wrote, sharing a photo of his Moog synthesizer in a tweet shared on Sunday, February 14th. Flux Pavilion finally unveiled .wav in January 2021 to critical acclaim. The expansive 16-track record explored new sonic frontiers for the dance music vet, who had long been a tastemaker in dubstep before announcing he was moving on from the genre. Citing a lack of interest after a decade of creating some of the most seminal songs in the dubstep landscape, Flux Pavilion said at the time that...
Wolfgang Van Halen appeared on the TODAY show to talk about his upcoming Mammoth WVH solo debut, featuring “Distance,” the single that’s a tribute to his late father Eddie Van Halen. Asked about the lyrics — “No matter what the distance is, I will be with you / No matter what the distance is, you’ll be okay” — he said, “It’s almost a mantra for you when you lose someone that’s important to you. As a parent or really anyone that plays a large role in your life,” Wolfgang said. “That’s my mantra when I think about my dad.” He also performed the song, which you can see below. Eddie Van Halen passed away in October 2020 after a long battle with cancer. But he was very much aware of his son’s musical accomplishments. “I’m so thankful that my father was able to listen to and enjoy th...
