The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2021 nominees on Wednesday (Feb. 10) morning, revealing the most gender-inclusive ballot in the Rock Hall’s history. Mary J. Blige, Kate Bush, Devo, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Iron Maiden, Jay-Z, Chaka Khan, Carole King, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, New York Dolls, Rage Against the Machine, Todd Rundgren, Tina Turner and Dionne Warwick are all on the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ballot. Seven of those 16 acts feature women, with two of those women already in the Rock Hall: Carole King’s era-defining songwriting earned her Rock Hall entry in the non-performer category, and Tina Turner was previously inducted as part of the duo Ike & Tina Turner. Both, however, enjoyed blockbuster solo success, releasing seminal GOAT albums (King...
But, for the record, Miley is perfectly happy being single. She proved it by posting a Hannah Montana throwback clip where teen Miley says, “I have no problem not having a boyfriend,” before cutting to footage from her TikTok Tailgate show in which she told the crowd, “I’m single now, you know, after COVID I’m ready.” Before you start mailing her out expensive Valentine’s Day gifts, though, read the caption on that tweet, in which MC clarifies, “Man. Being single sucks. All I ever do is WHATEVER THE F–K I WANT! Bahabahahahahabahahhahaha!” Watch the video below. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. Later this week, slowthai will finally unveil his sophomore album TYRON, which is one of our most anticipated projects of the year. As one last preview before it drops, the UK rapper has shared a song from the record called “CANCELLED” that features fellow British MC Skepta. slowthai is no stranger to transgressive behavior, and as the title suggests, this track is all about reveling in disorderly conduct that the public might frown upon. “I ain’t an actor, fuck the Oscars, main stage in my boxers/ Thousand grams, fuck the Grammys, same-same for the shoppers,” are the opening lines to slowthai’s short yet piercing verse. Skepta handles the hook, starting with chest-puffing braggadocio — “How you gonna cancel me?/ Twenty awards on the mantelpiece/ Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury/ Girls in...
Although Alex Trebek has sadly passed, his charitable spirit remains. The family of the late Jeopardy! host has donated his entire quiz show wardrobe to an organization called The Doe Fund that helps formerly homeless men find good jobs. At the suggestion of his son Matthew Trebek, and in conjunction with his former Jeopardy! co-workers, Trebek’s sprawling collection of suits, dress shirts, neckties, and more are now being used by men who need appropriate attire for job interviews. Trebek hosted Jeopardy! for 34 (!) seasons before he lost his battle with cancer last November, so naturally he built up an impressive closet of sharp garments. In total, The Doe Fund received 14 suits, 58 dress shirts, 300 neckties, 25 polo shirts, 14 sweaters, nine sports coats, nine pairs ...
We’re days away from Super Monster, the highly-anticipated debut album from Claud. Now, the first artist signed to Phoebe Bridgers’ Saddest Factory label has gifted fans with one final peek behind the curtain with a new song called “Guard Down”. Co-written with Cameron Hale and Mary Weitz, the song kicks off with an eclectic drum riff that sets the stage for whimsy and fun. Claud unveils another catchy melody, using the sunny topline as a Trojan Horse for a tale of unrequited love. “Don’t let your guard down,” they sing over and over again, “Don’t let your guard down.” In a statement, Claud explained the emotions behind the song, writing, “I have the hardest time opening up and letting my guard down. When I wrote this song, I had just found out somebody I had ...
Watch out Archie, The Powerpuff Girls are making the live-action leap. According to Variety, The CW has ordered a pilot of the much-hyped adaptation from writers and executive producers Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody. Based on the Cartoon Network series by Craig McCracken, the new series will shift away from and kids and instead follow the titular twentysomethings who are a little more than peeved that they’ve spent their entire childhoods fighting crime. That logline just screams The CW, but also of Cody, whose writing in Juno, Jennifer’s Body, and the incredible Young Adult speaks to the kind of cynical edge this reimagining will no doubt require. For many, Cody is an immediate selling point. But so is the intellectual property. Hell, the animated series ran for a whopping six seasons, ...
When Will the Ferrari SUV Come Out? The Purosangue, or “thoroughbred” if you will, is due to break cover in the first half of 2022. If auto shows ever make a comeback, the Purosangue will likely make its debut at the Geneva show, which is typically scheduled for the middle of March. There are plenty of spy shots of mules running around Ferrari’s global HQ in Maranello, Italy, as well as in frosty climates for cold-weather testing. We know relatively little about what the Purosangue will look like, but according to a report by the British publication Autocar, the SUV’s design has already been finalized by Ferrari. Mules of the Purosangue that have been captured in spy shots appear to be Maserati Levantes concealing Ferrari running gear. That said, these Pur...
“DON’T PLAY WITH ME WHEN IT COMES TO MY CHILDREN!!!” Kardashian wrote in response to the criticism. “My daughter and her best friend have been taking a serious oil painting class where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured. North worked incredibly hard on her painting which took several weeks to complete.” “As a proud mom, I wanted to share her work with everyone,” she continued. “I’m seeing op-ed pieces in the media and social media from grown adults breaking down whether or not my child actually painted this! How dare you see children doing awesome things and then try to accuse them of NOT being awesome!?!?!” “Please stop embarrassing yourselves with the negativity and allow every child to be GREAT...

By the time 3OH!3 arrives to declare that they’re “sick of living through these Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays” for the bridge, the track completely changes once again to an ethereal, synth-filled chorale. But Big Freedia quickly rips the song back into a thrumming dance rhythm, as the Queen of Bounce commands you to “Make it clap like you’re grateful/ Make it clap like you’re blessed/ Make it clap clap, dance in your backseat, ain’t nobody strapped.” “I’d had the idea to do this remix of Friday for years leading up to now, but honestly it was also mildly insane for me to think anyone else would want to be a part of it,” Black said of the song in a statement. “As I started talking about it with other artists and producers, I couldn’t...
Are we off to see the wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz — again? New Line Cinema is making a new adaptation of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” L. Frank Baum children’s novel, with Nicole Kassell, the visual architect of “Watchmen,” set to direct. Baum’s 1900 novel, now in the public domain, has spawned many adaptations over the years — most famously, of course, the 1939 MGM musical by Victor Fleming and starring Judy Garland. Kassell’s version will not be a musical. New Line said it will be a “fresh take” and a “reimagining” of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” It will have some advantages, too, since Warner Bros. owns New Line and the 1939 film. That means it can use some trademarked elements like the ruby slippers. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we re...
