According to Variety, the “WAP” rapper is set to star in the Paramount comedy as the lead character “Amber”,  a small-time crook who finds herself in over her head when a heist goes wrong. Duke Bootee Co-Writer of “The Message” Dead at 69

He was 69. Rolling Stone reports that Duke Bootee, born Edward Fletcher, died on Wednesday, January 13 at his home in Savannah, GA. According to his wife, Rosita, the cause of death was end-stage congestive heart failure. Duke Bootee was a notable session player for Sugar Hill Records, the iconic Hip-Hop record label founded by the late Sylvia Robinson the recording home of acts like The Treacherous Three, the Sugar Hill Gang and Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five. Coachella On Pause Until At Least Fall 2021, Says Palm Springs Mayor

As it stands, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is still scheduled for April 9th-11th and April 16th-18th, 2021, with other large gatherings—including Stagecoach Music Festival and The Dinah—following suit with spring dates. Phil Spector, Pioneering Music Producer and Convicted Murderer, Dies at 81

Phil Spector, the disgraced producer who pioneered the “Wall of Sound” and worked with artists including the Ronettes, the Crystals, the Beatles, Leonard Cohen, the Ramones and the Righteous Brothers, has died at the age of 81. Spector was convicted of murdering actress Lana Clarkson in 2009 and was serving a 19 years to life sentence at the time of his death. According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, he passed away of natural causes in an outside hospital at 6:35 pm PST on Jan. 16, 2021. Bandsintown Introduces Live Music Streaming Service

Bandsintown has introduced a new streaming service focused on exclusive livestreamed performances. Dubbed Bandsintown Plus, the new program will give subscribers access to over 25 virtual concerts each month. The service costs $9.99 a month and each show will be exclusive to subscribers. In addition to the performances, the platform will host members-only Q&A sessions and interviews with artists. Considering the fact that performances will be live and exclusive to the platform, there will be a monthly schedule of artists taking the virtual stage.
