Beyond Save Our Stages: NIVA Director Details Next Steps for Venue Owners

“One of the components of Save Our Stages Act is that should this continue longer than any of us want it to continue — which it already has — but should there be a need for additional funds, it’s part of the language of this program,” said Rev. Moose on the panel, adding that the act takes into account that more funding could be necessary depending on the duration of the pandemic. Rev. Moose continued that while he is not a “political soothsayer,” he does believe the bipartisan appeal of the SOS Act could mean an easier and more efficient path to additional funding if venues are forced to keep their doors shuttered for longer than expected. “I don’t know what the future is going to bring, but I would hope that if there is a need for additional COVID funding, that the government...

Young Buck Says He Was Catfished By Trans Woman In New Video

Source: Cindy Ord / Getty There’s been a series of clips rolling out from an exclusive interview Young Buck held with DJ Vlad, and it’s due to the rapper fiercely clearing the air on the drama endured during his time with G-Unit and 50 Cent.   HotNewHipHop has been following the breadcrumbs of the rapper’s tell-all. The latest clip details the backstory of his infamous encounter with a trans woman that quickly went viral after she secretly recorded the conversation which was leaked on social media by a supposed hack job.  You can refresh your memory on that scandal here. Over a year later, Buck is clearing his name once and for all, and it’s, unfortunately, giving hints of transphobia. “When that sh*t first happened, man, just to be honest with you, it f*cked me up like it w...

Hyunda-iCar? Apple and Hyundai May Partner on Autonomous EV

The idea of a self-driving, electric Apple Car is tantalizing and news reports suggest Hyundai is the latest automaker to want a piece of the action. The buzz started with a report in the Korea Economic Daily in which a Hyundai Motors executive said the automaker was one of a number of global carmakers in early talks with Apple about a possible partnership. The story said Apple approached Hyundai about producing the electric car and supplying batteries—Korea is a global leader in lithium-ion battery cells. Apple is a notoriously secretive company, so we were not surprised to read a subsequent statement from Hyundai that specifically does not mention Apple: “We’ve been receiving requests of potential cooperation from diverse companies regarding development of autonomous driving ...

Barry Gibb Set for U.K. No. 1 With ‘Greenfields’

The Bee Gees, who were inducted into the Rock Hall back in 1997, have ruled the U.K. albums chart just once, with 1979’s Spirits Having Flown, though the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, which features several contributions from the vocal group, led the national chart for a whopping 18 weeks. As fans remember David Bowie on what would have been 74th birthday and the fifth anniversary of his passing, the iconic singer’s Legacy (Parlophone) collection vaults 31-10. Also impacting the chart blast is Swedish post-punk group Viagra Boys, whose second studio album Welfare Jazz (Year0001) bows at No. 25, while Gold career retrospectives from British rockers Ian Hunter & Mott The Hoople (No. 18 via Crimson) and “Final Countdown” singers Europe (No. 34 also via Crimson) are eying Top 40 de...
