Social Media Sites Remove Trump Video Message to Capitol Hill Rioters

Representatives for Twitter, Facebook and YouTube did not immediately respond to requests for comment about the video. Earlier in the day, Twitter a Twitter spokeswoman told The Hollywood Reporter, “In regard to the ongoing situation in Washington, DC, Twitter’s Trust & Safety teams are working to protect the public conversation occurring on the service and will take action on any content that violates the Twitter Rules.” Users of the social platforms have called on the tech giants to shutter Trump’s account entirely amid the chaos on Capitol Hill. Sacha Baron Cohen specifically called on Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki and Google CEO Sundar Pichai to ban Trump from their platforms, writing that “...

Kenneth Petty’s Alleged Victim Airs Out Him & Nicki Minaj Over Alleged Harassment

Source: Robert Kamau / Getty Nicki Minaj may be enjoying motherhood, but that’s not stopping her name from appearing in some messy drama. As previously reported, the Queens rapper graciously shared photos of her son with her legion of fans, and the Barbz are over the moon; but the adorable photos didn’t stop more drama from hitting the Petty household after the alleged victim of Kenneth Petty’s crime made a tearful and public plea asking the couple to “stop harassing” her and her family. According to public reports, Kenneth Petty’s alleged rape victim is speaking out after claiming that she has been harassed by the Pettys during Minaj’s break from music. In an emotional Instagram post, the alleged victim tearfully requests that the Pettys “leave her alone.” “This message is for Nicki Minaj...

Rev. Raphael Warnock Becomes Georgia’s 1st Black U.S. Senator, Ossoff Appears To Have Won As Well

Source: Michael M. Santiago / Getty Georgia became the epicenter of U.S. politics on Tuesday (Jan. 5) as a pair of runoff elections would help determine which political party would control the U.S. Senate and Congress for at least the next two years. Rev. Raphael Warnock defeated Sen. David Perdue to become the state’s first Black senator and all signs point to Jon Ossoff becoming the state’s first Jewish senator. On the heels of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris defeating President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, the balance of control of the U.S. Congress hinged on the critical Georgia races, which would give the Democratic Party full control of both chambers. Warnock, who is the senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, is also the f...

Dr. Dre’s Home Almost Burglarized While He Was In The ICU

Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Last night (Jan. 6),  the Hip-Hop world got their first scare of 2021 when it was reported that Dr. Dre had suffered a brain aneurysm and was laid up in the ICU of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA. While most of us were praying he’d pull through and be ok (he is!), would-be burglars saw an opportunity and made a beeline to Dr. Dre’s home in hopes of making off with whatever they could carry. Unfortunately what they found were some iron bracelets as TMZ is reporting that law enforcement arrested the group of men who set off to house things from Dr. Dre’s home. Our sources say 4 men were on Dre’s Pacific Palisades property Wednesday around 2 AM. Security spotted them as they were casing the house. Before they could get to the main structure, secu...

Kenosha Cop Who Shot Jacob Blake 7 Times In The Back Won’t Face Charges

Source: Scott Olson / Getty The August 2020 shooting of Jacob Blake at the hands of police in the city of Kenosha, Wisc. left the 29-year-old man unable to walk and sparked a number of nationwide protests. The officer who shot Blake in the back seven times will not face charges, but the family is now in talks to launch a civil lawsuit against the Kenosha Police Department. Local NPR outlet WUWM reports that after the news went wide that officer Rustin Sheskey would not face charges on Tuesday (Jan. 5), it was then reported that the Blake family and their legal representatives will examine a pathway of launching the lawsuit. The shooting incident took place when officers, responding to a domestic incident, approached Blake with Sheckey unloading his service weapon in front of the man’s chil...

Club Space and Bar Lab Launch Space Park, a New Open-Air Venue in Miami

Though it may have been difficult to predict just how long COVID-19 would last after nearly a year of global shutdowns and quarantine measures, some concert and nightlife venues have already begun making necessary adjustments to continue operations during the pandemic.  Club Space in Miami is one such venue. With the help of Bar Lab—and with social distancing and safety measures in mind—the fabled club has announced the launch of its new open-air venue endeavor, Space Park.  In the Magic City Innovation District, Space Park’s events debuted on New Year’s Eve with Artbat and Rony Seikaly. As with all the events planned for the outdoor venue, Club Space sorted out the booking, with Bar Lab spearheading the beverage offerings.  “The opportunity of doing an open-air venue ...

Mazda Confirms First EV for U.S., and It’ll Have a Rotary Engine

It’s official: Mazda will soon sell a rotary engine in the United States, though perhaps not in the format we were all hoping for. In an interview with The Detroit Bureau, Mazda North American Operations president Jeff Guyton confirmed that the brand’s MX-30 crossover, originally bound only for Japan and Europe, will come to the U.S. as an electric vehicle with a rotary-engine range extender. “For the U.S. market,” Guyton told TDB, “the range extender would be more appropriate.” We asked Mazda for more information, and the company confirmed: “Mazda is committed to continuing to innovate and delivering an engaging driving experience. With that in mind, we can confirm we will bring our first electric vehicle, the MX-30, to the U.S. market. The vehicl...

Sweet 16 (Cylinders): Three V-16 Classic Cars Hit the Auction Block

Sick of the wheezy four-cylinder in your family commuter? We don’t blame you. With gas still (relatively) cheap and internal combustion still legal, it just might be time to let your quarantine-length hair down and upsize to something a bit more Jurassic. We say skip the Scat Pack and to hell with the Bimmer V-12; it’s time to quadruple your cylinders with one of three V-16 flavors available at RM Sotheby’s upcoming Arizona sale. Behold—the first and only V-16 supercar ever made. Yes, ever-ever. Don’t cite the Bugatti Veyron and Chiron, either—those billionaire bruisers rumble around Monaco with a “W-16” cylinder configuration that’s conceptually a bit like two inline-fours smashed together on each cylinder bank rather than two V-8s welded down the...

Grammys’ Rescheduled Date Conflicts With Screen Actors Guild Awards

“We announced the same date for the SAG Awards last July with the intent to give the greatest possible scheduling consideration for other awards shows. We expect the same consideration from sister organizations throughout the industry.” This is the second year in a row that there was a scheduling conflict involving these two shows. Last year, the 26th Annual SAG Awards were originally scheduled for Jan. 26, 2020. But when the Grammy Awards were announced for the same date, SAG-AFTRA moved the SAG Awards a week up, to Jan. 19. Last year’s scheduling conflict was of course pre-COVID-19. This year’s conflict is a direct result of the chaos that the pandemic has caused in every aspect of American life, including a logjam of award shows. Yesterday, the Recording Academy was gearing up to announ...

BTS Covered X Ambassadors For a New Ad and We Need the Full Version ASAP

BTS unveiled their cover of X Ambassadors‘ “Jungle” in a new Coca-Cola commercial on Monday (Jan. 4) in Indonesia. In the ad, the boy band’s version of the song plays over bottles of the fizzy drink being manufactured in a hip, music-driven Coca-Cola factory before being delivered around the world in the brand’s trademark red trucks. “I lost my mind, in the city of lights/ In the backstreets, buildings and the neon lights/ When I heard the thunder, I could feel the rain/ It’s the same to me, just a different name/ Won’t you follow me into the jungle/ Ain’t no god on my streets in the heart of the jungle,” the K-pop idols croon, transforming the rock trio’s foot-stomping 2015 hit with Jamie N Commons into a skittering, glitch...
