On Tuesday night (Jan. 5), Lauren Jauregui responded to a tweet from a user named YogiOabs, who wrote a lengthy, derogatory tweet about women. “Call a wh–e for what she is. A WH–E. The LP, along with a collection of unreleased demos, Stories From The City, Stories From the Sea – Demos, arrives on CD, vinyl and digital, Feb. 26 via UMe/Island. While Metallica preps their 11th studio album, Miley Cyrus is collaborating with A-listers for a cover album in homage to the metal behemoths. “I did a Metallica cover of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ featuring Elton John on piano. I’ve got Yo-Yo Ma, Chad Smith; so many all-stars. I’m so excited about this collaboration. I’m really stoked. Over the weekend an Eminem fan account captioned a post on Instagram asking if Snoop was being “disrespectful” when he said during an interview in July that he could live without Slim Shady’s music, amongst other flagrant comments. Ekiti governor mourns Prof. Ibidapo-Obe
Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi has described the death of the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, as a great loss to Nigeria. Prof Ibidapo-Obe died on January 3 after a brief illness. He was aged 71. Governor Fayemi, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, in Ado-Ekiti, on Tuesday, said the news of Prof Ibidapo-Obe’s death was received with shock and disbelief since the late Vice Chancellor did not show any signs of illness during their last meeting.
