Kelley later recalled a conversation he had with Hubbard in September about creating and exploring “freedom for ourselves in addition to what we do with FGL” and supporting each other as they navigate their separate musical journeys. Kelley hinted that his solo releases, which Hubbard has already listened to and said “sounded amazing,” could be out by summer 2021. “Like BK said, timing’s everything and we’ve been on a 10-year journey together. We wouldn’t change it for the world. And we’re gonna continue our journey,” Hubbard responded. “We’ve kind of created this freedom around ourselves to where we can do whatever we want to do creatively and musically, so it’s a lot of fun…. It’s a beautiful place ...

As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis Gives Recovery Update After Bonfire Accident

No, his “man parts” did not get burned. As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis took to Instagram on Sunday (Jan. 3) to give fans an update on his recovery process, three weeks after a bonfire accident that left him hospitalized with burns that covered 25% of his body. In the clip, he shared that it’s the first day he’s been out of bed and the day before was the first time his wounds did not need to be scrubbed. “That’s a huge relief because scrubbing my wounds is by far the most painful part of the recovery process,” he shared. “I’m very thankful that my face did not get burned and, for whatever reason, it’s a very common question so I should let you know that my man parts did not get burned,” he continued. “I did lose 20 pounds from being stuck in bed for three...

Fiona Apple Teamed With Phoebe Bridgers and More to Cover Waterboys Tune

Last November’s finale of the Showtime drama The Affair included a cover of the Waterboys’ “The Whole of the Moon” by none other than Fiona Apple with Phoebe Bridgers on backing vocals. Now, a video of an emotive Apple cutting the tune in the studio has surfaced.  The caption for the video, which was apparently shot and posted by filmmaker Zelda Hallman, explains that Apple asked Tony Berg to produce her version of the 1985 single. He recruited all-star players including drummer Matt Chamberlain, Patrick Warren, Ethan Gruska, guitarist Wendy Melvoin from Prince’s band the Revolution, and of course, Bridgers.  “This was the first time she had met Wendy and Phoebe and fell in love with both of them,” Hallman’s statement accompanying the video says.    This collaborat...

Steve Earle & The Dukes’ J.T. album, a collection honoring Earle’s late son, Justin Townes Earle, is out today, on what would have been Justin’s 39th birthday.  The record, which covers 10 songs from Justin’s discography, along with the elder Earle’s heartfelt tribute, “Last Words,” arrives nearly five months after Justin Townes Earle’s death from an accidental overdose. “His best songs were as good as anybody’s,” Earle said in a New York Times interview. “He was a way better singer than I am, a way better guitar player, technically, than I am. His fingerpicking could be mind-blowing.” In addressing Justin’s struggle with his demons, Earle says his son was “just one of those people that never felt like he was enough.” J.T. was recorded at New York’s Electric Lady Studios...

Trump’s Lame DOJ Unsurprisingly Clears Cops In The Killing of 12-Year-Old Tamir Rice

Source: Boston Globe / Getty While this news doesn’t shock us, it still upsets us. Lame-duck Donald Trump’s outgoing DOJ wanted to leave us with one last hard pill to swallow. The U.S. Department of Justice announced Tuesday (Dec.29) that it closed the investigation into the unjust shooting death of 12-year old Tamir Rice in Cleveland and that no charges will be filed against the officers involved. According to Raw Story, the DOJ’s reasoning behind its decision was due to the evidence not being good enough to come to a conclusion. In a statement, the DOJ explained its predictable but lame decision, stating: “The video footage is grainy, shot from a distance, does not show detail or perspective, and portions of the incident are not visible because of the location of the patrol car. Further,...

What Rona?: Diddy Celebrates Son’s 27th Birthday With Mask-Less Party In Miami

Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Some folk just have to get their party on, even during a pandemic. The latest, and certainly not the last, to make such a questionable decision is Sean “Diddy” Combs, who threw a birthday bash for his son Justin’s 27th birthday in Miami. Nope, it was not an intimate gathering in the slightest. According to TMZ it went down Wednesday night (Dec. 30) in Miami, Florida, and there wasn’t a mask in sight—besides the servers. Per TMZ: Diddy led the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” to Justin during the Wednesday night celebration that started at Swan restaurant, and eventually moved to Victory Restaurant & Lounge. Both joints were packed to the gills with folks popping bottles and a custom Dior cake for Justin. It’s 2020, so the first thing that hits y...

Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Are Basically Separated, But Won’t Divorce?

While Kanye has been living “humbly” on his Wyoming ranch and building his religious cul…umm, congregation, Kim Kardashian has been living her celebrity life in Los Angeles with the couple’s four children.
