Jonas Aden Hilariously Went Undercover and Hired Ghost Producers to Recreate His Sound

Jonas Aden has curated some of the finest YouTube content in the dance music world as of late, uploading an abundance of tips and tricks for aspiring producers and fun musical experiments. One of his more recent videos raised eyebrows as it takes on a sensitive topic in the EDM world—ghost producers. For a video challenge, the Norwegian producer used Fiverr to hire a variety of ghost producers to create songs matching his signature style. To avoid suspicion, he didn’t use his real name when reaching out to the producers and he intentionally crafted the messages to sound like they were from a less experienced musician. In the video, he details the whole process from contacting the sellers to showing off their final projects.  Without giving too much away, one of the most impressi...

The Best Fan Reactions to Taylor Swift’s ‘Evermore’ Hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200

“Cheers Swifties, cause #evermore by @taylorswift13 just arrived at N°1 on the #Billboard200 Albums Chart!! Exactly 4 months & 18 days after its sister #folklore NOT to forget that, 4+1+8=13,” a fan tweeted. “Y’all catch my drift.” Several posted celebratory (and entertaining) compilations of clips of Swift matching the caption “me when I’m the music industry.” “no one is really doing it like you,” a fan complimented Swift upon seeing the report of Evermore‘s debut. Still, many Swifties are holding out for what would be the best reaction of all: one from the artist herself. “current mood: waiting for taylor swift to quote that tweet with a cute gif,” one fan tweeted. The ball is in your court, Taylor. In the meanti...

Indie Venues Get $15B in New COVID Relief Bill

After months of lobbying and bipartisan support, the Save Our Stages Act will offer millions of dollars in support funding. Federal funding to help independent venues hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic has been included in a $900 billion bipartisan aid package following days of negotiations between leaders of both the Democratic and Republican parties in Congress. While the specifics of the bill have not yet been announced, the aid package does include “$15 billion in dedicated funding for live venues, independent movie theaters, and cultural institutions,” according to an email from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), as well as a $300 per week unemployment insurance enhancement for the millions of Americans out of work during the pandemic, including nearly 100,000 live ...

Barack Obama Shares 2020 Playlist, Includes Lil Baby, J. Cole, Travis Scott & More

Source: MediaNews Group/Boston Herald via Getty Images / Getty Another year is coming to a close, which means plenty of year-end playlists are already being shared. Some lists tend to carry more weight—like that of the United States’ last legitimate President, Barack Obama. Spotify gets the distinction of housing Obama’s curated playlist. President 44’s favorite cuts from 2020 include notable Hip-Hop hits like Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce’s “Savage Remix” (which is first) and Lil Baby’s “The Bigger Picture.” Other rap joints that made the cut include Goodie’s Mob’s “4 My PPL,” Travis Scott’s “Franchise,” featuring Young Thug & M.I.A., Gunna’s “Sun Came Out,” and J. Cole’s “The Climb Back.” Not a single cut from Griselda, though? Clearly we gotta put Sasha Obama up on game. Prop...

Paul McCartney to People Who Think Masks Infringe on Civil Liberties: ‘That Is Stupid’

On Friday, Paul McCartney finished his McCartney album trilogy with the release of McCartney III. On Sunday, he visited CBS This Morning to chat about making the record at home during “rockdown,” and likened it to other quarantine activities, like baking bread and cleaning. “The other thing people have been doing has been cleaning out their closets. So that’s a bit what [McCartney III] was,” Macca explained. “I just started cleaning out my cupboards. Like, ‘What about that song last year that I started but never got to finish. ‘Let’s have a look at that, let’s finish this.” As with his other namesake albums, McCartney played all the instruments on his new collection of songs; however, he was reluctant to work with anyone aside from a few engineers at his house...

“John McClain was like, ‘Man, Michael don’t want that s–t! He want the s–t you givin’ Noreaga!'” Pharrell continued, noting that this was right before the King of Pop’s “You Rock My World” era. He also shared that it was one of his collaborations with N.O.R.E. that Jackson wanted. ” He was like, ‘Yo, he want that “Superthug.”‘ The rejection turned out to be a major win for Timberlake. Justified — which Pharrell produced the majority of — dropped in November 2002 and went on to peak at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and has since been certified triple platinum. The former *NSYNC member is credited with co-writing with all 13 tracks. It turns out that Michael Jackson wasn’t the only mega ...

Paul McCartney Again Questions Whether The Beatles Would’ve Reunited If John Lennon Had Lived

This isn’t the first time McCartney has discussed whether The Beatles would’ve performed together again after splitting in 1969. In 2012, the legendary songwriter told Rolling Stone that “there was talk of re-forming The Beatles a couple of times but “it didn’t jell, there was not enough passion behind the idea.” Lennon was murdered by Mark David Chapman in 1980, followed by George Harrison‘s death from cancer in 2001. Ringo Starr and McCartney are the only surviving members of The Beatles. During his CBS Sunday Morning interview, McCartney also discussed self-recording his new solo album, McCartney III, in isolation at his Sussex studio earlier this year. “It’s not like working with the band, because I know what I want to hear, and I d...
