Ahead of the refreshed 2021 Nissan Armada‘s official debut later this month, Nissan released a very brief teaser video of what we can expect from updated full-size behemoth. From the looks of things, the large-and-in-charge Armada receives a host of exterior tweaking inspired by the aesthetics of the similarly updated Nissan Patrol that broke cover last year. Hardly surprising, considering the current Armada is essentially a Patrol repackaged for the U.S. market. What we see from the seconds-long teaser is the new Armada blasting along a straight desert road, with our only true look at the new SUV being from a bird’s-eye—er, more likely, drone‘s eye—view as it cuts through the dusty terrain. From such a distance, we can just make out a new front fascia, now incorpora...
Cadillac’s Escalade SUV is a king-sized luxury luminary, and the debut of an all-new version goes beyond simple car introduction to full-scale cultural event. Now in its fifth generation, what was once a rebadged GMC Yukon has become a distinctively styled flagship, albeit one that still shares its basic mechanicals with that GMC as well as the Chevy Tahoe. But General Motors has worked hard to ensure its latest batch of full-size SUV triplets are fraternal rather than identical, an effort most apparent inside the Escalade’s decadent cabin. The New Escalade’s Interior Is Seriously Impressive We’ll get to the rest of the 2021 Escalade in a minute, but this rig really is all about its interior, a tech- and feature-dense cocoon that finally befits a six-figure luxury S...
Source: Raymond Boyd / Getty Dr. Dre‘s personal life has surely been getting much more attention than he’d like this year. Recently, the Death Row Records founder’s daughter has revealed she hasn’t spoken to him in 17 years. That’s a might long time to hold a grudge. According to the Daily Mail, Dre’s eldest, 37-year-old daughter, LaTanya Young, hasn’t seen or spoken to her dad since she was 20. ‘ LaTanya Young, 37, said that she desperately wants a relationship with the hip hop legend, 55, and insisted she doesn’t want anything from him except a father-daughter relationship, saying: ‘Money is not what I want, I feel better doing it on my own.’ She admits she feels ‘displaced’ by not seeing her father in nearly a decade, saying: ‘I really just want to have closure. I just want to be able t...
SNL cast member Kate McKinnon appears in the sketch as Dido, who delivered the iconic hook on the original song. “He can’t buy it himself because he lost his job because he was stealing from his boss,” McKinnon’s Dido sings in the parody. SNL‘s Bowen Yang also appears in “Stu,” hilariously portraying a piano-playing Elton John, who famously performed alongside Eminem at the Grammy Awards in 2001. The darkly comical skit ends with grainy video footage of Slim Shady himself kneeling by a decorated Christmas tree and opening up an unexpected gift from Santa. “To Shady, from Santa. That’s crazy, a PS5? I didn’t even ask for this,” Eminem says. “I guess Shady must’ve been a good boy this year. Sorry, Stu, you f—...
“The majority of what that post was to warn my label who I’ve been signed to for almost 10 years. Everything that you guys see of me, everything that I put out, everything that I do is 100% me,” Taylor said in the clip. “There’s no gun to anybody’s head to do anything that they don’t want to do. So yes, I am going to feel under appreciated if I’m putting in 110% and my label is giving me — they’re reciprocating, what, 10% of that.” The singer added that Def Jam has given her “literally no push” over the years and she has repeatedly asked the label to drop her from its roster. “The crazy part about it is I asked Def Jam to drop me on almost 10 different occasions, straight to their face, up in the building, at the table. Like, ‘Yo, just ...
The holiday team-up, which is featured in Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, does an impressive job of balancing three larger-than-life personalities in a little over three minutes, giving each ample time in the spotlight in between harmonies. “I wrote ‘Oh Santa!’ for my album Merry Christmas II You, which was sort of the follow-up to my first Christmas album — we have several — and so I think it was all about the actual event, of course, of doing ‘Oh Santa!’ with Jennifer and Ari, but it was also like, how do I see this as a producer?” Carey previously told Billboard of the collaboration. “How do I see these vocals having different textures, what are they? Because originally, I was blending with myself, which that&...
When she got the correct name, she wrote, “Hi @taylorswift13. I hope you’re in good spirits and having a wonderful day. Keep your head high!” By Sunday (Dec. 6), Swift had found Warwick’s nice message and responded with some holiday cheer: “I just saw that you tweeted me!!” Swift replied. “I’m a huge fan and I respect you so much, thank you for wishing me well. Joe Biden is officially president-elect, but those who avidly support Donald Trump refuse to admit it and talk of conspiracy theories and fraud. During a recent interview with The Independent, David Byrne expressed his surprise over the continued enthusiasm for Trump post-election. “We’ve all had our dystopian fantasies of what could go wrong, and there’s plenty of books and TV shows that represent that. But then to see this happen…Trump was not a surprise,” Byrne said. “He is what he is. What is surprising is how many people still support him [even after the election].” He continued: “When you see the coronavirus exploding across the United States, and how many dead there are, and how many people just don’t care about that or think it’s a conspiracy, you just go, ‘Wow, the count...
The MotorTrend Truck of the Year-winning Ram 1500 TRX’s reign as the hottest truck for the 2021 model year may soon come to an end, as Ford continues to prep its third-generation F-150 Raptor. Now, F150Gen14.com‘s forum gives us a better clue about what to expect from the next Raptor—at least in regards to its styling. See all 16 photos Like its forebears, the 2021 F-150 Raptor’s mug and fenders see the most notable styling differences over Ford’s run-of-the-mill half-ton pickup. An illustration of the truck’s front end—presumably from Ford’s parts catalog—shows the upcoming Raptor maintains trim-specific cues such as a grille that trades the Blue Oval badge for distinct Ford lettering. Meanwhile, a new lower fascia evolves the style of the 2020 Rap...
Yesterday, more than 40 artists joined forces for CatSong Festival — a virtual tribute to Yusuf/Cat Stevens in honor of the 50th anniversary of his 1970 albums Tea for the Tillerman and Mona Bone Jakon. During the nearly two-and-a-half-hour long stream, Haim performed a cover of “Hard Headed Woman” off Tea for the Tillerman. Danielle Haim took the reins for the stripped down rendition, singing and playing guitar, while Este and Alana contributed backup vocals. Elsewhere, Jack Johnson covered “Where Do The Children Play,” Brandon Boyd of Incubus performed “Wild World,” and Dave Matthews played “Father & Son.” “It’s great to see and hear these covers of my songs given new life,” Yusuf said in a statement ahead of the tribute. “There’s no better hon...
Saturday Night Live returned from its Thanksgiving hiatus this weekend with an episode hosted by Jason Bateman. Among the show’s highlights was a holiday-themed parody of Eminem’s famous “Stan” video starring Pete Davidson as an obsessed Santa fan named Stu who really wants a PS5 for Christmas. Kate McKinnon is featured as Dido (read: Stu’s mom) and Bowen Yang plays Elton John; however, the real Slim Shady does make a cameo at the end. Watch the “Stu” sketch below. [embedded content] We commemorated the Marshall Mathers LP’s 20th anniversary earlier this year with a reflection of that time in Eminem’s career. Slim Shady also made our “35 Most Influential Artists of the Past 35 Years” list, coming in at number 25. SNL plans to air two more episodes before the year’s...
