If you want to buy some wallpaper of Nick Cave’s drawings of naked women, it sounds like you could honestly say that you’re the only person who has it. The singer-songwriter (who’s usually accompanied by the Bad Seeds, although apparently not as bad as his commercial choice of wallpaper drawings) mentioned to Financial Times that he hasn’t sold a single roll of the £200 ($270ish for those in America) product. “My favorite thing is the Hyatt Girls pornographic wallpaper, made from drawings of naked women I have doodled in hotels down the years,” Cave said. “It’s a lovely thing – and so far has sold zero rolls. I am immensely proud of designing a product that literally nobody wants!” Of course, there are also some items for sale that are hopefully selling better, like pol...
Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Benny The Butcher is still on the mend after suffering a gunshot to the leg in an armed robbery that took place in Houston late last month. Speaking for the first time since the shooting, the Buffalo, N.Y. MC sounded in good spirits but realizes that the fame and attention he attracts now has altered his perception of fame in his own view. The Joe Budden Podcast featuring Rory, Mal, and Parks did one of their customary call-ins to a celebrity friend of the show. The Cash App Boys got right to the business and inquired about Benny’s condition and to learn more about the photo of a smiling Rick Ross standing behind him while seated in what appeared to be a wheelchair. “LIke I tell n*ggas, I really ain’t feel famous until after I got shot,” Benny said about the in...

TMZ is reporting that the “Hoes Mad” rapper’s home was the site of a standoff between the law enforcement and himself after the police believed he might have put hands on his ex-girlfriend. The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) describes itself as the lobbying organization on behalf of the UK’s nightlife sector, a $66 billion industry and employer of 8% of Britain’s workforce. From a policy perspective, the organization relies on productive dialogue with government officials to advocate for the sector’s best interest, but with prolonged COVID-19 restrictions still in place and limited transparency from the government, it seems talks have all but broken down between the parties. On Wednesday, December 2nd, the government’s latest instantiation of restrictions are scheduled to go into effect. The regulations, the NTIA argues, will continue to disproportionately impact the hospitality industry, as pubs, bars, and restaurants will be...
Hot off the heels of his scintillating Recovery LP, house music vet Hot Since 82 has taken his album to new heights. You’ll understand that pun in a moment. In celebration of Recovery, the renowned British dance music producer recently filmed a live performance from a hot air balloon. After saying what we all would say before stepping into a hot air balloon (“I hope I don’t fall out”), Hot Since 82 flung headlong into a his set, a hypnotic song-cycle of Recovery cuts. Floating above rolling hills and and sparkling, scenic rural setting, he played out a DJ set consisting of only tracks from his new album, further driving home the notion that it is one cohesive narrative. Check out the full performance below. Hot Since 82 released Recovery last Fri...
The second season Song Exploder, the Netflix series based on the podcast of the same name, premieres globally on Dec. 15 and just dropped its first trailer. In it, one of the most powerful moments is when Trent Reznor is seen listening to the classic Nine Nails song “Hurt” and reflecting, “I felt alone. That’s me not knowing who I am anymore: I think I said ‘I’m sorry.’ Then it exploded unexpectedly.” In addition to Nine Inch Nails, the series features The Killers, Dua Lipa and Natalia Lafourcade. The lineup was initially announced in October. A deep dive into the “deeply personal” Killers hit “When You Were Young” reveals that “those first three chords awakened us,” while Lafourcade shares that to get beyond a block for “Hasta La Raíz” where “the music did fe...
The Strokes are not very good at sports, at least not in their new music video for “The Adults Are Talking.” The video is directed by Roman Coppola, who previously worked with the band on several clips from 2001’s Is This It. In an intense game of baseball, the band is losing by 56 runs, which will happen if you stick to making catchy indie rock riffs instead of working out. The song is from this year’s The New Abnormal, their sixth studio album, and echoes the nostalgic sound of Is This It. It’s probably not unexpected that they’re losing the game, as the opposing team is made up of robots. However, The Strokes certainly do not strike out; The New Abnormal was just nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Album—up against Fontaines D.C., Sturgill Simpson, Michael Kiwanuka, and Grace...
The Hold Steady had grand plans for 2020, with tour dates that would have taken place during the summer and whatnot. And, again, you know, 2020. Singer Craig Finn released some new solo music and they’re reissuing Heaven Is Whenever. It definitely appears the band has been using their time wisely: The Hold Steady will release their eighth studio album, OPEN DOOR POLICY, on Feb. 19, 2021. It was recorded in upstate New York with producer Josh Kaufman and engineer D. James Goodwin. It’s the second album with this itineration of The Hold Steady. From it comes the stomping rocker “Family Farm,” which you can hear below. Here’s what Finn had to say about it all: “Songs are created a bunch of different ways in The Hold Steady, but to me, our most classic songs are driving rock son...
