Excision has announced the second compilation to be released on his newly minted Subsidia Records banner, Night Volume 2. Fans will remember the grand debut of the record label back in September, commemorated by a gargantuan 118-song release that was split into three themed chapters. Considering the fact that the debut compilation’s “Night” segment was reserved for “Heavy bass tracks,” fans can safely assume that its successor will also concentrate on hard-hitting dubstep music. The record’s list of artists unquestionably confirms that notion, as it features Antiserum, Dubsribe, Downlink, Jeanie, LEV3L, and Excision himself, among many others. Check out Subsidia’s announcement below and pre-save Night Volume 2 here ahead of its December ...
It’s a nerve-wracking time to be a sedan in the U.S. right now. The market is shifting away from four-door family cars toward SUVs and crossovers. The latest casualty in this move is the Volkswagen Passat, which will be discontinued in the U.S. by 2023, according to a report from Wards Auto. “We’ve made a decision to cancel the Passat for the U.S. The sales trend is very firmly in favor of SUV models, as indicated by the success of the [Chattanooga-built] Atlas,” Volkswagen brand chief Ralf Brandstätter told Wards. Production of the U.S.-market Passat will end at Volkswagen’s U.S. plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 2023, coinciding with the all-electric Volkswagen ID4 SUV’s ramp-up to full capacity. (Keep in mind the American Passat is unique from the E...
Rina Sawayama, “Lucid” For fans of both Rina Sawayama’s debut album, Sawayama, and Lady Gaga‘s dance-pop haven Chromatica, this new single is exactly for you. Sawayama teams up with Chromatica producer BloodPop on “Lucid,” a pure electro-pop banger where the star decides to dissociate into her own dream world, conjuring up her fantasy relationship while the throbbing house beats and glittering synth runs pulsate around her. “Me and Lauren Aquilina wrote this together on the floor of my tiny rented living room back in early 2018,” Sawayama said of putting the new song together. “BloodPop sent us the beat and the melody flowed out so easily that I remember at one point I started hoovering ’cause I knew ...
Kaavan is set to leave for a sanctuary in Cambodia on Sunday, said Martin Bauer of Four Paws International, a global animal welfare group that’s led the charge to save him since 2016. Cher took up Kaavan’s cause and has been a loud voice advocating for his resettlement. Four Paws, which often carries out animal rescue missions, has provided the medical treatment needed before Kaavan can travel and will accompany him to the sanctuary. Even after he’s in Cambodia, he’ll require years of physical and even psychological assistance, Bauer said. Because of the abysmal living conditions blamed on systemic negligence, Pakistan’s high court in May ordered the closure of Marghazar Zoo in the capital of Islamabad, where Kaavan has lived for much of his life. A medical examination in September showed ...
