Morrison previously released the lyrically pointed songs “Born to Be Free,” “As I Walked Out” and “No More Lockdown.” Due to the pandemic, Clapton, who performs the Morrison-written track, worries about the fate of the live music industry. “There are many of us who support Van and his endeavors to save live music; he is an inspiration,” Clapton said (via Variety). “We must stand up and be counted because we need to find a way out of this mess. Ski-Toting Mercury Cougar of James Bond 007 Movie Fame Could Top $200,000

Whatever you think of George Lazenby’s turn as James Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service—famously his first and only appearance on screen as 007—this 1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 convertible deserves recognition as one of the coolest ski-equipped Bond cars in existence. Driven by the character played by Dame Diana Rigg, Contessa Tracy di Vicenzo, it was both an unlikely getaway car and an unexpected entrant in an ice racing event—leaving a lot of twisted metal, and frustrated SPECTRE henchmen in its wake. Now, this fascinating Bond car is for sale through Bonhams, and the high end of the auction estimate is a heady $200,000 when it crosses the auction block on December 16, 2020. It’s one of three used in the film, the seller claims, and apparently appeared in the scene in...

Smashing Pumpkins Return With Double Album ‘CYR’: Stream It Now

Cut in Chicago and produced by Corgan, CYR features fellow founding members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin alongside longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder. CYR represents, at least “symbolically,” the “makings of a dissociative life, which best as we can tell is modern life: as presented through a variety of sources; past, present, and future,” explains Corgan. With the new LP, “you get 20 pieces of fractured ideology, neither here nor there but that’s sort of the point,” he continues. “To ape that which in the post-technology age is not so easily defined and pinned down, but can be shown in a lithe, restless melody”. The two-time Grammy winners have more on the way. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Mellon Collie, the Chicago alternative rock legends recently anno...
