While in-person concerts are still on hold, the show must go on(line). Enter Bandcamp Live, described in the platform’s announcement as “a new ticketed live streaming service that makes it easy for artists to perform for and connect with their fans, and for fans to directly support the artists they love.” For most artists, the majority of revenue comes from live performances. During the global lockdown period, musicians have had to rely heavily on streaming revenue, which oftentimes only pulls in fractions of a cent. Bandcamp Live is looking to change that. Dolly Parton said she was “just shocked” when she heard the news news that a $1 million donation she made to fund research into a COVID-19 vaccine has panned out. “I’m a very proud girl today to know that I had anything at all to do with something that’s gonna help us through this crazy pandemic,” Parton told BBC’s The One Show on Tuesday (Nov. 17). Parton was speaking about the donation she made to the disease’s research at Vanderbilt University for what came to be called the “Dolly Parton COVID Fund” in April, as the novel coronavirus first began to spread worldwide. Parton made the donation in honor of her friend and the university’s professor of surgery, Dr. Naji Abumrad, with the money going to help fund Moderna’s promising C...

There’s a new Lamborghini Huracán sheriff in town. To celebrate both the brand’s own Super Trofeo one-make race series and the Huracán’s success in GT3 racing (three consecutive GTD class victories at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona and two straight GTD titles at the 12 Hours of Sebring), Lamborghini is launching a new high-performance variant called the Huracán STO. STO stands for “Super Trofeo Omologato,” and yeah, it’s a bit close to Ferrari’s vaunted GTO moniker, but that’s okay. The STO is intended to be a road-legal track car that offers the feel and much of the technology of the Super Trofeo racer. Put more simply, if the Performante is Lambo’s Porsche 911 GT3 or McLaren 600LT, the STO is its GT3 RS or 620R. It’s an extreme vehicle. The STO will offer roughly e...
