If Eddie Van Halen’s health hadn’t deteriorated, then he — along with singers Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth — would have reunited in a “kitchen-sink tour,” Eddie’s son Wolfgang said. “If only things had been better,” Wolfgang told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show (via Rolling Stone), “it would have been amazing.” Eddie Van Halen died on Oct. 6, following a long battle with cancer. In the interview, Wolfgang admitted that he convinced his dad to think about touring with both Hagar, Roth — and even bassist Michael Anthony, who Wolfgang replaced in 2006. They even reportedly considered bringing out former Extreme vocalist Gary Cherone, who sang on one Van Halen album, 1998’s Van Halen II. While there haven’t been any public c...
It’s been more than three years since Bleachers released their sophomore album Gone Now, and the band’s ushering in its latest era with style: enlisting none other than Bruce Springsteen on new single “Chinatown” and filming a video with the Boss. “’chinatown’ starts in NYC and travels to new jersey. that pull back to the place i am from mixed with terror of falling in love again. having to show your cards to someone and the shock when you see them for yourself. thinking you know yourself and where you are from…. having to see yourself through somebody who you want to stay… i started to write this song with these ideas ringing in my head,” bandleader Jack Antonoff said in a statement. “to further understand who you are pushes you to further u...
When Perry Farrell went in for spinal surgery in September, he didn’t realize that it would involve the removal of a very important organ. “They had to remove my voice box and put it on a table. That was daunting,” the Jane’s Addiction frontman said in an interview with Classic Rock magazine. Farrell was undergoing surgery to remove “crushed discs” in his spinal cord, which he associated with “mostly from partying and leaning back my head to rip out notes and surfing and dancing around.” The surgery was successful and even said he’s “a quarter-inch taller.” “They literally exposed my skeleton, took the discs out and put in artificial discs,” he said. “So now I am a quarter inch taller and twice as attractive to my wife.̶...
In a video filled with poignant home movie clips, Wolfgang Van Halen honors his dad with a song called “Distance.” It’s a tribute written while Eddie Van Halen was battling cancer, “imagining what my life would be without him and how terribly I’d miss him,” as Wolfgang explained in a statement. Eddie Van Halen died Oct. 6 after a long battle with cancer, and tributes to the beloved guitar hero were immediate, effusive and ongoing. It’s the first solo song from Wolfgang, who has played bass with Van Halen since 2007. It features the impassioned chorus, “No matter what the distance is, I will be with you.” Wolfgang plays all instruments and sings lead on the track, released under the band name Mammoth WVH. (“Mammoth” is a reference to one...
Though T.I’s been very visible lately via mediums like social media and TV, he’s been relatively quiet on the music front aside from a few cuts and guest appearances here and there. Today the “King Of The South” gets back to his Hip-Hop roots with the release of his latest Tokyo Jetz assisted visuals “Hit Dogs Holla” which features Tip leading a gang of ATV riding soldiers to the voting booth! Nah, we made that last part up. Still, it feels like that’s how it went down in Atlanta this past election day. Props!! Back in the Beast coast a few kings link up as DJ Kay Slay calls on Ghostface Killah, Busta Rhymes and Junior Reid to air their grievances on social justice in the clip to “It’s About To God Down.” Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Trippie Redd, Salaam Remi fea...
Source: The Washington Post / Getty If 2020 has taught us anything it’s that the world is a cold place and people will make their opinions heard regardless of whom or what. Iconic game show host, Alex Trebek hasn’t even been gone more than a few days and already people have an opinion on who should replace him as the face of Jeopardy. Yesterday a petition to name LeVar Burton the successor to Alex Trebek had been drawn up and already it’s garnered more than 50,000 signatures as people love the former host to PBS’s Reading Rainbow. LeVar for his part took to thanked everyone for their support saying “Even if nothing comes of it, I can’t tell you how much how I appreciate all y’alls love and support!” Even if nothing comes from it, I can’t tell...

Eight months into the global pandemic, people are starting to feel that fatigue. But it looks like Jack Black has plenty of excess energy and humor. The musician and actor, suited up in a tiny red swimsuit, with a hose spewing water on him (courtesy of “hose water technician”), got wet and went to “werk” on Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B’s smash hit, “WAP.” Like hordes of TikTok videos recapturing the iconic dance, Black does his best to high kick, twirl and undulate along to the song. And yes, he does do the pelvic moves on the floor, too. And it looks like the world is loving it, too. Public Enemy commented on his moves by saying “Nice Windmill,” while Robert Downey, Jr. said, “Get it!” Jeremy Renner, Beck, Naomi Watts, C...

Add Bernard Sumner to the list of artists who’ve contracted the novel coronavirus. Speaking with The Current’s Jill Riley, the New Order frontman revealed he caught COVID-19 from a colleague in the past month. “I’m just recovering from coronavirus actually,” he explained. The illness rendered his voice “gruff,” and he can’t smell anything, but Sumner counts himself as “one of the lucky ones. I didn’t get it too bad. I’m ok. Walking the interviewer though the symptoms (“I had a little bit of a temperature, but not much”), Sumner experienced relief for four days, then the issues returned. “When it came back, it was more severe, but still not too bad. I just felt extreme fatigue, like a really bad hangover. And then it went away, and I’m okay.” Sumner is on...
Jack Black is not one to shrink from a challenge and when someone dared him to do Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s sensual “WAP” dance, he, of course, stripped down to his Speedo and let it rip. But, like, in the most Jack Black way. The actor and physical comedian par excellence one-upped Jennifer Lopez, Jason Derulo and the other stars who’ve tried their hand at the “WAP” moves with an eye-popping clip in which he high-kicks, twerks and pulls off some impressive acrobatic moves on the ground as someone off camera douses him with water from a hose. The comments from his friends and admirers were just as hilarious. “Get it!!!” said pal Robert Downey Jr., while Jeremy Renner added “Nothing but love for ya brother.” Public Enemy ga...
