In her IG post, Cardi gave a shout-out to self-proclaimed “metal and chain queen” Laurel DeWitt for creating the costume’s intricate gold accessories and credited designer Baba Jagne for fashioning the snake body. On Friday, Cardi shared a short clip on Instagram of Ciara and her 6-year-old son flaunting their hip-hop-themed Halloween costumes. In the video, Ciara is dressed as Cardi from her Invasion of Privacy album cover, while the singer’s son is swagged-out as Offset. “I’m gagging! I love it! I’m so hype!” Cardi captioned the post. “I’ve always been a huge fan of @ciara and became an even bigger fan after I met her! She is the most sweetest and the most nicest person in the world! A true peach! Staying sweet and humble was the prayer!” S...
Marshmello is unpredictable, to say the least, but a new submission by the producer to the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board may provide insight into the plans for his next venture. L’Oréal received pushback from the masked music producer over the company’s request to trademark “The Marsh Mellow” for a forthcoming makeup-related product. The opposition brief alleges L’Oréal is not only using the phonetic equivalent of Marshmello’s name, but states they are infringing on the artist’s natural zone of expansion covered by his own trademark. At this point you may be wondering how a dance music producer could claim that a makeup brand is infringing on his business. The two industries are entirely unrelated. That’s where things get in...
It really is cruel that Halloween is on a Saturday this year — between the pandemic and looming election, it’s hard to let loose and celebrate much of anything right now — but that doesn’t mean you can’t dress up, even if your costume party is hosted by Zoom. Run The Jewels’ El-P and his wife Emily Panic paid tribute to The Sopranos by dressing up as Tony and Carmela Soprano. Charli XCX got ghoulish with red latex and a creepy monster sleeve. Halsey, the queen of Halloween, went all out on a Corpse Bride costume, while YUNGBLUD dressed up in two different costumes (Wednesday Addams and Beetlejuice). But Lizzo might have taken the cake this year — she dressed up as 2020’s hero, the fly that landed on Mike Pence’s head during the vice presidential debate. See all these and more cos...
TroyBoi has announced his next move. Britain’s trap don is set to drop a new single, “Mother Africa,” next month. For the first time in three weeks, TroyBoi took to Twitter, breaking his silence and musing that it may be time for some new music. Luckily, fans did not have to wait long for the “Warlordz” producer to make good on that statement. “The music that will be coming out of the speakers in my sets when shows start again…I’m shook for you,” TroyBoi said on social media back in August 2020. While we won’t be able to hear the full impact of what he’s been cooking up in a main stage setting, the producer is ready to serve up something hot. His latest announcement arrived without a preview, but the ominous, emerald-tinged ...
In an interview with MusicRadar, dance music’s favorite green monster Feed Me shared insight on his early career-defining moments, including the story of how he was first discovered. Jon Gooch, the multi-alias producer behind Feed Me, Spor, and Seventh Stitch, started as a graphic designer. In his teens, he started generating income doing design-related commission work, a step that allowed him to fund his musical endeavors. He downloaded FL Studio and rapidly began making headway under his drum & bass-focused alias, Spor. The Spor project showed promise, as Gooch was signed to a label and played shows around the UK. Ultimately, however, he wasn’t attached to the drum ‘n’ bass genre as a whole, thus Feed Me was born out of a need for change. Chang...
We’re just a few days out from the election, and as the presidential candidates make their final push, Joe Biden’s pulling out the big guns. On Friday, the Democratic nominee shared a campaign ad focusing on his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and it’s narrated by Bruce Springsteen. “Scranton, Pennsylvania. Here, success isn’t handed down. It’s forged with sweat, grit, and determination. This is his hometown,” the Boss says while images of Scranton and its citizens, including Biden, flash on the screen. “In Scranton, good times aren’t promised. Here and in towns across America times are harder than they ought to be. Lives on pause; dreams on hold; futures in doubt. He’s running to change that.” The minute-long clip is soundtracked by Springsteen’s Born In The U.S.A. sing...

In the colorful images, Lil Nas X is seen wearing a pink jumpsuit, full make-up, fake breasts, and a two-tone wig while sitting on a motorcycle made of ice. Iggy Azalea reacted to Lil Nas’ makeover on Instagram, commenting, “You win Halloween 2020!” Minaj hadn’t responded to his post as of press time. Lil Nas X is a longtime fan of Minaj. Earlier this summer, following rumors that he was running the now-extinct Minaj fan page @nasmaraj on Twitter, the rapper admitted to keeping his admiration for her a secret because he wasn’t ready to come out as a homosexual. “I didn’t want people to know I was gay tbh,” the Grammy-winner tweeted in June, responding to a fan’s question about why he never fessed up to being a Barb. What’s the spookiest thing about Halloween this year? The ongoing coronavirus pandemic, according to Ariana Grande. The “Positions” singer took to social media on Saturday (Oct. 31) to share a cautionary message about the importance of having fun and celebrating All Hallows’ Eve, but also being safe and maintaining social distancing. “Happy best day of the year everyone!” Grande wrote alongside an adorable photo of a kitten with bat wings on Instagram. “Please dress up, take photos, get in your pjs and stay your a–es home bc the spookiest thing going on tonight is still this massive pandemic.” You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. Following his death earlier this month, musicians who were fortunate enough to meet Eddie Van Halen have been sharing their fondest memories. During an interview with BBC Radio 6, Billy Corgan reminisced about watching the Van Halen guitarist play in his studio circa 1997, calling it “a religious experience.” “Oh my God! For American guitar players, he was the supreme thing. He’s the one who pushed us to be better than we probably would have been,” the Smashing Pumpkins bandleader gushed after he was asked about EVH’s influence on his own guitar playing. “I was lucky because, around 1997 [or] ’98, there was a guitar magazine in America, and I went to them, and I said, ‘I’d really like to interview Eddie Van Halen,’” he continued. “And they said, ‘Why do you wanna interview ...
Five Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin recently released his solo and to celebrate it, he’s done what everyone has during the pandemic: he performed in a livestream. Walking out to an orange haze and while letting out a guttural scream as to start and he ran through his entire Superbloom on Friday (Oct. 30), which ran for a little under an hour. The livestream was a concert experience that ran through the album from start to finish. It also featured a surprise cover of Nirvana’s ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ about halfway through, a dance break and a few speeches. “If I can leave this world having helped people love themselves for who they truly are under [their] skin, then my job will be done,” he said. Irwin is the first of the group to launch a separate solo project. As the drummer, he is kno...
