Carl Cox Partners With Social Virtual Reality Platform, Sensorium Galaxy

If you’re a fan of Carl Cox, The Sims, or Second Life, you’re in luck. Sensorium Galaxy is a new multi-user social virtual reality program (backed by former Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov and Jay-Z‘s TIDAL streaming service) that allows people to experience the arts in a digital social network. The Killers, Nine Inch Nails, Dua Lipa and Natalia Lafourcade are the artists tapped to take dives into specific, career-changing hits on Volume 2 of Netflix’s Song Exploder. Pharrell Williams, 2 Chainz Added to Run the Jewels’ Holy Calamavote Lineup

Run the Jewels’ Holy Calamavote is less than two weeks away. And now, they’ve announced additional guests for the nights’ voter-encouragement event, adding Pharrell Williams, 2 Chainz, Greg Nice, Gangsta Boo, DJ Cutmaster Swiff, Cochemea and Gastelum. Zack De La Rocha, Mavis Staples and Josh Homme were previously announced as part of the telecast. It will also be the premiere performance of Run the Jewels’ RTJ4. Despite a rescheduled date due to a health scare, the event will air on Oct. 17 at 12:01am ET/9:01pm PT on Adult Swim’s website and HBO Max. The struggle rapper is being sued by the man he allegedly pulled a gun on during an argument about Tupac Shakur. You may or probably don’t remember that way back in June 2019, Xan got into a tiff with a man over the merits of Tupac’s music. Public Enemy dropped an animated video for “Grid,” the latest from PE’s recent album, What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down?, the group’s first album in over 20 years for their first label Def Jam. COVID-19, Bushfires Impact APRA AMCOS’ Financial Year

With restrictions in place on live music and events across the country, royalties are “expected to take a more substantial hit in 2020-21,” APRA AMCOS warns. In a painful sign of the times, royalties payable to songwriters, publishers, affiliated societies and rights holders during the year-long period were down 0.9%, to A$407.3 million ($289 million). Predictably, the hardest hit revenue category was public performance income, which generated A$73 million ($51 million) of income, almost A$20 million ($14 million) less than the corresponding figure from last year. This year’s show will be shot in multiple locations around the world. Sam Smith, Maluma, Doja Cat, Yungblud and Zara Larsson are the first performers announced to appear on the 2020 MTV EMA (Europe Music Awards), which are set to air globally on MTV on Nov. 8.
