Zendaya to Play Ronnie Spector in Upcoming Film on Singer’s Life
Zendaya will be taking on the role of Ronnie Spector in an upcoming film on the iconic singer’s life, according to Deadline. Independent entertainment company A24 is teaming up with New Agency for the Marc Platt-produced film, which has closed deals for Spector’s life rights and for her memoir, Be My Baby, written with Vince Waldron. Spector personally chose Zendaya to portray her, according to Deadline. A24 also produces Euphoria, and Zendaya at 24 years old recently became the youngest actress to win an Emmy lead actress in a drama series for her role as Rue in the popular HBO show. Bonnaroo Postpones for Third Time, Moves Festival to September 2021
The 2021 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival has been pushed yet again over concerns about the length of the COVID-19 pandemic, marking the third time dates for the festival were shifted due to the virus. The annual event will now take place Sept. 2-5, 2021. The festival, which typically takes place in mid-June, was moved to September 2020 in March after the coronavirus took hold in the U.S. In June, it was moved a second time to June 2021, before being rescheduled for a third time earlier today. NBA YoungBoy Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges
Chart-topping rapper NBA YoungBoy, (born Kentrell Gaulden) was arrested on Sept. 28 on three drug charges, and today (Sept. 29) his attorneys say the artist is not guilty, Baton Rouge, La TV station WAFB reports. Gaulden, who was arrested with 15 others, is facing drug possession, drug distribution, felon in possession of a firearm, and stolen firearms charges. According to WAFB, the rapper’s attorney James Manasseh said in a statement, “There’s nothing in the report that indicates that he did anything wrong. They arrested several people and there was no indication that he had any guns or drugs on him at the time of the arrest.
