Source: Claudio Lavenia / Getty Westside Gunn has enjoyed a productive 2020 that still bears the promise of his official Shady Records debut album, along with a mixtape release with his brother, Conway The Machine. However, fans of the Grisdela Records team are undoubtedly letting off a few “BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMs” in honor of WSG as he reconfirmed that he’s retiring at the end of 2020. “Only 3 more months left and I’m still at peace with my decision but this will be a dope 3 months I promise u that #FLYGOD,” Westside Gunn wrote via Twitter this past Monday (Sept. 21). With his acclaimed third studio album Pray For Paris, 10th mixtape Flygod is an Awesome God II, and his major-label debut Who Made The Sunshine on the way, WSG can rest easily knowing he and his crew helped to tremendously el...
Good news, stick-shift enthusiasts: The 2021 BMW M3 comes standard with a six-speed manual gearbox. That’s right, the German brand’s iconic sports sedan refuses to give in to peer pressure and nix the row-it-yourself transmission from its features list. In other words, BMW listened to its enthusiast fanbase. Alas, the company opted to ignore the cries of dismay caused by the tall and narrow kidney grilles found on the 2021 4 Series. Rather than limit the large nostrils to the 3 Series sedan’s lower-slung sibling, BMW went right ahead and applied them to the new M3. Is this a sign of what’s to come for the run-of-the-mill 3 Series? We hope not. If the previous M3 is anything to go by, though, it’s likely the latest M3 will serve as the sole 3 Se...

Mariah Carey is opening up ahead of the release of her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey. The superstar sat down with Oprah Winfrey for the talk-show host’s Apple TV+ series The Oprah Conversation to discuss the tome and its revelations. In a clip shared exclusively with Billboard, Winfrey asks whether the five-time Grammy winner was afraid to share some of the things she does in the book. “Yes, but it’s not because I was worried about what they would think,” Carey admits. “It’s because I never would have spoken a word about anybody in my life — and I try to be very fair — but people have drawn first blood with me, historically.” “When there are people connected to you as a person that achieves a certain level of success, you ar...

A grand jury in Kentucky decided on Wednesday (Sept. 23) to indict one police officer with charges that do not address the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old EMT who was killed in her Louisville, Ky. home on March 13. Former Louisville Detective Brett Hankison, who was fired in June, now faces three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, a Class D felony in the state of Kentucky “when, under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, he wantonly engages in conduct which creates a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person,” according to state law. USA Today reported that while reading the charges, Judge Annie O’Connell said Hankison “wantonly shot a gun” into three apartm...
Over the past few weeks, a number of aging UK rockers have voiced their displeasure with the coronavirus quarantine — but perhaps no one more than Stone Roses singer Ian Brown. Brown unleashed a series of tweets about coronavirus conspiracies, claiming the pandemic, which he termed a “plandemic,” was “planned designed to make us digital slaves” and ranted about the validity of the pandemic. Brown’s previous tweets show that he’s against nearly every government precaution to stop the spread of COVID-19, including masks, lockdown and contact tracing. Brown also quoted 1984 author George Orwell, writing: “ALL tyrannies rule through fraud and force but once the FRAUD is exposed they must rely exclusively on FORCE George Orwell.” ALL tyrannies rule through fraud and force but onc...

Source: John Shearer / Getty The City Girls may be celebrating the fact that Yung Miami is newly single, but her ex Southside reveals that the celebration is as much information about their break up that fans will receive as far as he is concerned. After the duo broke the news online, Southside took to Instagram to shut down rumors before they began by making it plain to fans that he has no interest in slandering the mother of his daughter. “I ain’t mad about none of that sh*t. Source: Steve Granitz / Getty Lists are meant to be debated, and updated. Rolling Stone magazine just updated its Greatest Albums of All Time list, and interestingly, though not too surprisingly, Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is its highest-ranking Hip-Hop album. Rolling Stone‘s OG list was first published in 2003 and got tweaked in 2012. In spite of the list being a continuing traffic winner due to spirited debate about ranking and who should or shouldn’t be included, this year RS decided to complete remake the list. The remade list was created by compiling the Top 50 lists of over 300 critics, artists, producers, journalists, and “music-industry figures” (i.e. record and execs) [Full Disclosure: The author of this post participated by submitting his own Top 50 albums...
