Madonna Reveals Plot Details of Upcoming Biopic

In a casual, hour-plus Instagram Live on Thursday (Sept. 10), Madonna and Oscar-winning Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody discussed plot details of the movie that will cover her “struggle as an artist trying to survive in a man’s world. Really, the journey, which has been happy, sad, mad, good bad and ugly,” Madonna said. “We’re here writing a screenplay,” the singer affirms in the video. “It’s a story about my life. We’ve been working on it a few months, and it’s been a bit weird writing about me. I have to remember a lot of stuff that later on disturbs me, so it’s kind of like a form of therapy. Sometimes,” she admits, “I get confused and forget I’m writing about me, and start referring to myself as ‘she.’” The pair laugh about Cody’s small computer font and being dressed “like dominat...

Angel Olsen Covers George Harrison’s ‘Beware of Darkness’

With everything that’s happened in 2020 so far, the year has definitely been a mood. And Angel Olsen adds to it with an acoustic cover of “Beware of Darkness” from George Harrison’s 1970 album, All Things Must Pass. “The original is pretty great,” she captioned the Instagram video, which also included the lyrics to the track. “I’m just messing around like a tired sad shit.” It unsurprisingly got many rave reviews, including one from Jehnny Beth of Savages. “I love the way your voice gets more assured towards the end,” Beth commented on the video. “Properly walking then. The power of music. Thank you.” Olsen just released her fifth album, Whole New Mess, on Aug. 28 via Jagjaguwar. She also played the title track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Disturbed Drop Cover of Sting’s ‘If I Ever Lose My Faith in You’

Disturbed has released another surprisingly mellow cover: a version of the 1993 Sting hit “If I Ever Lose My Faith In You.” The Chicago-bred lineup enjoyed previous success with their take on Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence,” as well as versions of Tears for Fears’ “Shout” and Genesis’ “Land of Confusion.” “We have loved this song for a long time, and even though it was released in 1993, it seems strangely applicable to today’s world,” the Grammy-nominated band explained in a statement. “The song is about losing faith, and might initially sound pessimistic, but it’s about the importance and power of personal relationships, and how they can save you and provide solace in an increasingly confusing world.” A moody black and white video directed by Matt Mahurin captures t...

The Flaming Lips Share ‘God and the Policeman’ Video

The Flaming Lips’ American Head is out now and to celebrate it, they dropped a new video for “God and the Policeman.” Directed by Wayne Coyne and Blake Studdard, the video, which takes place in Oklahoma and Texas, presents various strong images, from a baby boy in a field of sunflowers to a dead body on the road. And to add to the drama, Coyne is found running. At first, we’re not sure where to or from. But towards the end, the police finally catch up to him, put him in cuffs and take him away. “God and the Policeman” also features the vocals of Kacey Musgraves. And while she doesn’t appear in the video, her vocals are strongly felt. The Flaming Lips have previously released “My Religion is You,” “Will You Return/When You Come Down,” “Dinosaurs on the Mountain” and “You N’ Me Sellin.” Ahea...

But, prosecutors say neither Bellamy nor his co-conspirators put the money toward their businesses — instead, Bellamy blew a fortune on things like custom jewelry, designer clothes and casino trips. Reportedly, Bell...

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept’s Grille Puts on a Light Show

How’s this for a welcome? You’re looking at the Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept’s “welcome lighting,” shared via Instagram by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles exec and designer Ralph Gilles. Automakers have been introducing more and more elaborate approach displays recently and Jeep clearly has no intention of getting left behind. This Jeep puts on a show. For example, the refreshed 2021 Audi Q5 utilizes something it calls “signature lighting,” which causes the multi-segment OLED taillights to fire off with a custom flourish when you lock or unlock the doors, as well as when you engage the crossover’s Dynamic driving mode. The Grand Wagoneer’s front-end lights up in an intricate sequence. First, the “WAGONEER” script illuminates, ...

Maserati Promises New SUV Called Grecale Based on Alfa’s Stelvio

FCA’s merger with France’s PSA hasn’t changed its grand plans for a complete revamp of Maserati. The 630-hp, mid-engine MC20 supercar is the first of an avalanche of new or redesigned Maserati models scheduled to be unveiled by 2025. While the MC20 is set to serve as the brand’s halo (with a drop-top Spider version joining the coupe in 2022), Maserati insiders hope the brand’s money-maker will be a new mid-size crossover SUV called the Grecale, which will share a lot of hardware with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The Grecale, which in true Maserati tradition is named after a wind (in this case, a north-easterly that blows across the Italian peninsula), launches in 2021 and is key to a 40 percent increase in total Maserati SUV sales by 2025, the brand’s global ...
