The Animals’ Eric Burdon Says ‘House of the Rising Sun’ Fits Donald Trump ‘So Perfectly’

Donald Trump’s had no shortage of artists mad at him for using their music, seemingly preferring to receive cease-and-desist notices from handfuls of musicians rather than being stuck with those who would actually accept the use of their tunes at his rallies. But one artist who won’t be discouraging the current White House regime from using their most famous tune is Eric Burdon of the Animals. According to Burdon’s Instagram post, no one asked his permission to use “House of the Rising Sun” when Trump landed at Wilmington International Airport in North Carolina this past week — and he certainly doesn’t support the President — but it’s a fitting track for the controversial leader to use. “Even though nobody asked my permission, I wasn’t surprised to learn that [Trump] used #Houseo...

Watch Slipknot’s Corey Taylor’s Version of ‘(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding’

If you’ve ever wondered what it would sound like if Slipknot took a page out of Elvis Costello’s playbook and covered Nick Lowe’s “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding,” you’re one step closer to your lucky day. Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor performed the song during SiriusXM’s Octane Home Invasion Festival as he continues to promote his debut solo album, CMFT (out Oct. 2 via Roadrunner Records), so while it’s not quite the entire masked metal band performing the classic tune, it’s a whole lot more likely than it was yesterday. Of course, the veteran songwriter was in on the joke, beginning the song by proclaiming “I’ve been threatening to do a cover of this for a very, very long time and figured what better time to do it than right now ...

Ralph Gilles Is Sorry It Took So Damn Long to Resurrect the Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Jeep apologizes for not bringing back the Grand Wagoneer sooner, but the team at Fiat Chrysler (FCA) probably would not have been able to do the premium three-row SUV justice if it had come out a decade ago, at least according to the automaker’s head of design, Ralph Gilles. “The times were not quite right at the time,” says Mr. Gilles, in an interview following the global reveal of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept that is a precursor to the short wheelbase version of the top-end SUV which goes on sale next summer for the 2022 model year.
