The electronic dance music world is abuzz with theories after Nicky Romero teased what appears to be a new alias. An Instagram profile dedicated to the alias in question, Monocule, was recently created, but it does not contain any posts at the time of this article’s publishing. Although it is devoid of content, the profile‘s bio reads, “the deeper side of [Nicky Romero],” explicitly revealing it to be the Dutch superstar’s new moniker. Romero himself took to Instagram to tease the project today, August 31st, according to a screenshot shared by a vigilant Reddit user. In addition to the social media fodder relating to Monocule, a mysterious EP has surfaced on Beatport, which is available for pre-order now. The record is a three-track EP that is s...

The United States is 64 days away from the 2020 election on Nov. 3, and Kanye West is still on the campaign trail. The rapper has appeared on a few ballots thus far, but public questioning of his intentions have risen–especially since Vice magazine published an article earlier this month claiming the Republican Party helped him submit the required signatures to appear on the ballot in the swing state of Wisconsin. Nick Cannon is hoping to break down all of Ye’s political controversies in a new interview he’s been teasing on Instagram on Monday (Aug. 31). “People keep on saying I think that y’all, you and Republicans, are in cahoots,” West said in a preview clip. Cannon responded saying that there are people who bel...

Fresh off the release of his innovative new mixtape, CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3, Jaden Smith dropped by Apple Music to chat with Ebro Darden on everything related to his creative project. “This album is a time piece in the sense that I am speaking from the perspective as an artist, as a rapper, as a singer, as a poet,” he explained. “I’m speaking from the perspective of being 16, 17ish. That’s when a lot of people get their first love, or heartbreak, around that time, and same for me. So I’m going back there.” On linking up again with Justin Bieber on “Falling for You,” Jaden shared that he wrote the song “last summer with my guitar teacher, in my room.” “I was thinking ‘Man, I want Justin on this song so bad,’” he continued. “And I di...
If it isn’t obvious already, contracting COVID-19 can be scary. For Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh, it was literally a life or death situation. In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Mothersbaugh details a terrifying bout with the virus. He told the paper that he spent 18 days in Cedars-Sinai hospital in June and was on a ventilator. Mothersbaugh also said that he experienced some serious hallucinations. “There’s a bookstore I love where I get stationery supplies, and in my mind I had been there,” he told the Times. “I was convinced for about two weeks that I had been hit by a brick by somebody in Little Tokyo.” He added about hallucinating: “I had this whole elaborate story of how these kids sold me to an ambulance company that then got some sort of a payment for delivering COVID patien...
Source: Stephane Cardinale – Corbis / Getty The French have proven once again they are not to be taken lightly. One team of criminals just made underworld history. As spotted on Raw Story the people of France were reminded that the streets will eat by any means necessary. On Friday, August 28 a crew of stickup men set their sights on an armored truck and it was clear their strategy was well thought out too. According to the reports unidentified men approached the vehicle as it was exiting the Bank of France in Lyon. Two vans blocked their path; one in front and another in the back. From there the crooks hopped out with guns and threatened the driver. Naturally the individual behind the wheel saw that they were not playing and promptly gave them access to the precious cargo. They unloa...

Before the highly-anticipated twerking and pearl-clutching bars were dropped, Megan Thee Stallion opened up her virtual and socially distanced concert by honoring the victims of police brutality. While Megan and her dancers stood on stage with their fists raised, the names of Tamir Rice, Freddie Gray, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, George Floyd, Elijah McClain, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and Jacob Blake flashed across a giant screen behind them. How and when each of them was killed or injured by law enforcement was also shared. After all of the names came across the screen, the critical and painful question was asked, “Why is it so har...
Kanye West has addressed the speculation that Republicans are paying him to run for U.S. president this year to be some kind of distraction. “Bro, can’t nobody pay me,” West said in an upcoming interview on Nick Cannon’s podcast, Cannon’s Class. “I got more money than Trump.” The rapper also added, “I’m not running for president. I’m walking.” In the interview that’s going live tomorrow (Sept. 1), Cannon traveled to West’s mountain ranch in Wyoming to talk about his life, career and of course, his run for elected office. Aside from his sit-down chat with Cannon, West’s campaign is currently in trouble with Virginia election officials because voters who were identified to support his campaign said that “they didn’t know what they were signing up for,” the Virginia Mercury reported. This is ...
