Bad Bunny may have been named songwriter of the year at the 2020 ASCAP Latin Music Awards in July, but that hasn’t stopped people on social media from questioning his victory due to his sometimes explicit lyrics. But the artist has a response to his critics, and it comes in the form of new music. In a surprise track released Sunday (Aug. 30), Bunny sends a message to his haters, expressing that there are more important issues going on in the world. “They fight because they gave me composer of the year but not for what matters,” he belts in the song. Called “Compositor del Año” (and with a Soundcloud link that ends in “f–k2020”), the Puerto Rican artist opens up about the ongoing social issues such as racism, immigration, the importance of voting and much more. It is on! Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has finally accepted a challenge by Nandi Bushell. The 10-year-old British girl issued the drum battle in an Aug. 17 YouTube video during which she covered the band’s hit “Everlong.” The 51-year-old rocker responded in a tweet from the band’s official account on Saturday (Aug. 29). “Challenge accepted,” he wrote, tagging the young musician. “Haven’t played these songs in a loooooong time…..thanks for the inspiration!!!” “Your move,” he added before noting that he’s playing on his daughter Harper’s drum set in the accompanying video. In the 5-minute clip, Grohl shares that he’s seen all of Bushell’s videos. “You’re an incredible drummer, and ...
Katy Perry continues to treat fans with new music videos for songs on her latest album, Smile. In the days leading up to — and following — the Friday (Aug. 28) release of Smile, the 35-year-old pop star has dropped daily installments as part of her “Smile Video Series” on YouTube. So far, she’s shared visuals for songs “Never Really Over,” “Harleys in Hawaii,” “Cry About It Later,” “Tucked” and “Champagne Problems.” Perry unveiled her fifth studio set just days after giving birth to her first daughter, Daisy Dove, with fiancé Orlando Bloom. In the lead-up to Smile‘s release, Perry dropped the trippy animated video for “Never Really Over,” which takes viewers on a VR journey thro...
IDLES have never been afraid to do things their own way, and the British rockers’ unique spin on classics by bands like the Beatles and the Strokes is a perfect example. The two videos, along with a handful of others, were filmed while the group was recording at the legendary Abbey Road and provide a nice balance to the handful of tracks they’ve already released from the upcoming Ultra Mono (out Sept. 25 via Partisan Records). Of course — as with anything IDLES does — the covers are significantly different than their original versions. Fans of the original bands expecting to hear a familiar version of “Reptilia” or “Helter Skelter” may be sorely disappointed, but there’s no denying the creativity flowing through the new takes on them. For those looking for more IDLES origina...

The 2021 BMW 4 Series is arguably one of the most polarizing cars to have come out in the last few years. And by polarizing, we mean that pretty much everyone on the internet hates it. Honestly, we can’t blame the masses for turning their backs on the 4’s nose given BMW’s famous—and typically handsome—kidney grille has been turned into a set of proverbial buck teeth. Fortunately, there are a lot of really talented people with access to Photoshop. One such person is Instagram user @Spdesignsest (or Siim Designs), and he has given us a number of possible front-end fixes to the BMW M440i. To our eyes, these are some of the best reinterpretations of the new Bimmer two-door we’ve seen so far. See all 15 photos The grille has been shortened to a much more accept...
The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards are going down this weekend, and the ceremony plans to safely celebrate plenty of firsts. The evening’s host Keke Palmer will be the first woman of color to host the VMAs since then-MTV VJ Downtown Julie Brown co-hosted in 1986-87. “It’s an opportunity for representation. Just knowing that someone who looks like me will get the opportunity to see me up there, which will make it more possible for them to see it for themselves. I want to give it my best so I can let them know what’s possible for them — and they can obviously go beyond that,” Palmer told Billboard in an interview Friday (Aug. 28), two days before her big night. But it’s a big night for others taking the stage with the TV debut performances of t...
Recently we were armchair quarterbacking the theory that the Kia Stinger was not long for this world. Even though the Stinger itself is a great car, lackluster sales are a sign that potential buyers aren’t as fired up as us critics. But we’re happy to report that, for now at least, we’ve been proven wrong. Kia just announced a slew of updates to make the Stinger both more handsome and more upscale. Plus, the sedan is getting a more powerful four-cylinder engine. For starters, the exterior of the car gets some slight revisions. Up front the tiger nose grille gets wider—a trend Kia has been executing throughout its lineup these days—and the headlights get a slight redesign to give them a sharper look. There’s a new tail light design at the back, and the rear-facing tu...
Citing an early order guide, CarsDirect reports a 2021 Mazda CX-30 Turbo is set to follow the Mazda 3 2.5 Turbo, packing the same turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder found in that car, the CX-9 and CX-5 crossovers, and the Mazda 6 midside sedan. The 2.5-liter turbo makes 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque on 93-octane fuel (or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on regular) in the 2021 Mazda 3, and we expect similar numbers from the CX-30 Turbo. That amount of power would represent a significant bump over the regular CX-30, which makes 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft from a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four. See all 41 photos A Mazda spokesman declined to comment on the report, which also says production of the CX-30 Turbo begins in November. Mazda began building the standard 2021 CX-30 in July...
