Source: Al Pereira / Getty There is a deep-seated, racist sickness in America that rears its ugly head far too often. In the latest example, ex-NFL star Brandon Marshall had the cops called on him by security that was refusing to let him move into his own new home. Think about how outrageous that sounds, but it’s absolutely true. We know because Marshall shared footage of the incident on his Instagram. “This is the problem,” an irate Marshall can be heard, reading security the riot act. “I come here, you feel uncomfortable, my first day moving into my new house, because my name’s not on the list you call the cops.” Marshall also noted that he had two kids in the car, and that other Black people lived in the area in…wait for it…Florida. Regardless, calling the cops was wholly unnecessary. T...

Add Leonard Cohen’s estate to the growing number of musicians and musician estates to rebuke the Trump campaign for playing their music without authorization. On Thursday night after President Donald Trump’s speech to conclude the Republican National Convention, Tori Kelly’s version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” from the Sing soundtrack blared in the background and it was also performed later in the night by opera singer Christopher Macchio. Cohen’s Estate were not pleased, saying they denied the RNC’s permission to use the song and are “exploring their legal options.” “We are surprised and dismayed that the RNC would proceed knowing that the Cohen Estate had specifically declined the RNC’s use request, and their rather brazen attempt to politicize and exploit in such an egregious m...
The 2021 Porsche Panamera welcomes two new trims to its model line: the 552-hp 4S E-Hybrid and the 620-hp Turbo S. In turn, however, the large Porsche four-door bids adieu to the plain-old Turbo trim. Why? Well, it seems the automaker got so much power out of the old Turbo’s gas-fed V-8, it deserved Turbo S status—and besides, the new 4S E-Hybrid steps neatly into the performance shoes of the outgoing, 550-hp Panamera Turbo. At least, that’s what the German brand’s vice president of the Panamera model line, Thomas Friemuth, told MotorTrend in a recent interview. See all 25 photos “In terms of power and torque, the new Panamera 4S E-Hybrid gets into the range of the old Panamera Turbo,” Friemuth said. Good thing, too, because Porsche realized it had truly ...
Why All the Interest in Electric Delivery Vans? Bollinger’s own figures suggest that replacing a fleet of gas- and diesel-powered vans with electric Deliver-E vans could drop a fleet owner’s total cost of operation by 15-25 percent over a ten-year period, using conservative estimates of fuel costs. Higher efficiency, lower energy costs, greater “up-time,” and reduced maintenance costs are the primary drivers of this savings. See all 8 photos Not a B1/B2/Chass-E Frame As soon as Bollinger rolled out its Chass-E class-3 electric rolling chassis earlier in 2020, prospective commercial customers began inquiring about upfitting delivery van bodywork to it. This could easily be done, of course but it made no sense—unless said deliveries were to be made so far off pavement...

Source: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin / Getty Though rap stars are known to ball out of control and make it rain like El Nino out chea, not many of them go out and spoil that one lucky woman in their lives, but Ty Dolla $ign seems to be an exception to that rule. For his Nicki Minaj assisted visuals to “Expensive,” Ty Dolla $ign blesses a pretty young woman with his credit card and lets her rack up on expensive attire to the point the man can build a new outhouse with all the boxes and bags she brings to his luxurious home. Talk about spreading the wealth. On the R&B tip, Keke Palmer welcomes the month of September by bigging up those who share in the 6th astrological sign and heats things up for her sultry visuals to “Virgo Tendencies.” Happy belated, Keke! The long-running Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival is shifting to a digital format this year and is now accepting applications from local musicians within the American roots music ecosystem in the Bay Area. The fund includes $450,000 for individual musicians’ relief and additional support for local music venues and their workers, part of a large $1.5 million charitable effort. “As we were weighing what do, there was a sense that we had to do something this year and not just take 2020 off because of the pandemic,” says Mick Hellman, whose father investment banker Warren Hellman created the free bluegrass festival in Golden Gate Park in 2001. “My family went all in on the festival following my father’s passing (in 2011) and the festival has grown to ov...
CNCO is days away from making their first-ever mainstage performance at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards but first, they have released new music for their beloved CNCOwners. On Friday (Aug. 28), the Latin boy band dropped their latest single “Beso,” flaunting their musical growth and maturity in the lyrics and infectious rhythms. “We had this song recorded about two years ago,” Christopher Velez tells Billboard. “Time passed, we recorded it, changed the beat, and fixed the little things that we didn’t like. It was a cool and very long process but we really loved the end result. It is a giant step for CNCO.” On Sunday (Aug. 31), the group, composed by Velez, Richard Camacho, Joel Pimentel, Erick Brian Colon, and Joel Pimentel, will debut the song at the VMAs, marking the first tim...
