Kanye West Accused Of Ripping Off Black-Owned Company, Slapped With $20M Lawsuit

Source: NurPhoto / Getty Kanye West might soon have to dip into his billion-dollar coffers, this after a company he was associated with claims that he ripped them off. MyChannel, Inc., which specializes in video and e-commerce technology, says they helped West get his Sunday Service events off the ground. The Blast reports: “The founders of MYC reasonably relied on a series of promises made by Mr. West and other leaders in his organization that for six (6) months convinced them to focus 100 percent of their attention on Kanye and Yeezy, and to invest $7 Million in company resources for good measure. In fact, the MYC founders and other personnel moved for their Pennsylvania headquarters to Yeezy’s headquarters (first in California and then in Illinois) and worked full-time for Defendents, a...

Don’t Blame CTE: Brian Urlacher Slams NBA Players, Doesn’t Care About Black People

Source: Cindy Ord / Getty NFL legend Brian Urlacher doesn’t care about Black people. That’s the only way to explain a headass message the former Chicago Bears linebacker posted on Instagram where he expressed disdain for NBA players having the nerve to go on strike in order to protest racial injustice. It was nice of Brian Urlacher to let every black teammate he ever played with know their lives aren’t worth shit. Also, FYI, the knife was found after he’d been shot. The cops who shot him didn’t know about, or see, it. Also, cops are supposed to arrest, not kill, people. pic.twitter.com/W3SoQuGkzq — Bill McCormick (@BillMcSciFi) August 27, 2020 On Instagram, Urlacher invoked spectacular yet tragic on-field performance from Brett Favre, as evidence that Black basketball pla...

Nas “Ultra Black,” A$AP Ferg ft. Lil Wayne & Jay Guapo “No Ceilings” & More | Daily Visuals 8.27.20

Source: Lauren Cowart / Courtesy of Hennessy Last week Nas really took the OG’s back to lyricism, content and overall thought provoking music with the release of his latest LP, Kings Disease, and it took a few days but now we get some new visuals for one of the album’s standout cuts. In his visuals to “Ultra Black” Nas take it back to the pro-Black theme of the 90’s that helped make Hip-Hop’s golden era in the Beast Coast legendary and showcases the importance of the Black family unit as he kicks rhymes in the kitchen while someone’s Old Earth cooks up some goods on the stove. You could almost smell what she was cookin.’ Elsewhere A$AP Ferg finds religion (or a cult) as he raps in a candle lit room before being joined by Jay Guapo and Lil Wayne on a Morpheus chair for his clip to “No Ceili...

Smashing Pumpkins Return With ‘Cyr’ and ‘The Colour of Love’

A couple of weeks after teasing activity, the Smashing Pumpkins are officially back. Billy Corgan and company released a pair of new songs, “Cyr” and “The Colour of Love,” the first songs from an upcoming album they’re working on that will be out on Sumerian Records. The lineup — which is essentially the founding one sans D’Arcy Wretzky — also includes guitarist Jeff Schneider. “‘Cyr’ is dystopic folly,” Corgan said in a statement. “One soul against the world sort of stuff, set against a backdrop of shifting loyalties and sped up time. To me it stands as both hopeful and dismissive of what is and isn’t possible with faith.” The Pumpkins last released new music in 2018, with the Rick Rubin-helmed SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1 / LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN. You can read our review of the...
