Wet Ass Cape: Cardi B Responds To Kylie Jenner “WAP” Video Controversy

Source: Prince Williams / ATLPics.Net As the world continues to process the event that was Cardi B’s recent single release people still have so many questions. One aspect has caused so much confusion that the Bronx bombshell has responded. While “WAP” has generated over 50 million views since its debut last week, a cameo appearance by Kylie Jenner left millions of her fans scratching their heads. Their overwhelming concern points to the celebrity’s history of reportedly appropriating Black culture for her personal gain. The backlash was so considerable that one fan started a petition on Change.org to get her removed from the visual. Naturally, Bardi defended the move to include the socialite in the video. Smash Mouth and Trapt Perform in Front of Unmasked Bikers

Showing up maskless to a Smash Mouth show in the middle of a pandemic may make one seem like they ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed, but thousands still did just that on Sunday night. An estimated 250,000 bikers attended this weekend’s 80th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which featured performances from the “All Star” rockers, album-sale-denying Trapt, Buckcherry, Quiet Riot and others. And while organizers for the South Dakota event said they’d encourage attendees to follow CDC COVID-19 recommendations, not many fans listened. Many were packed in for Smash Mouth and few, if any, were wearing masks. At one point, Smash Mouth lead singer Steve Harwell said, “We’re all here together tonight. Fuck that COVID shit!” HAPPENING NOW The Buffalo Chip is attracting hundre...

Watch Ted Leo with Members of Rise Against and Converge Cover the Replacements

If there’s anyone who knows how to get a group of musicians (in different places) to play an elaborately crafted cover, it’s Jordan Olds. And in his latest edition of Two Minutes to Late Night, he recruited Ted Leo to lead a cover of the Replacements’ “Kids Don’t Follow,” off their 1982 EP Stink. Dressed as a priest, Leo is joined by a powerhouse set of other musicians, including guitarist Zach Blair of Rise Against and former member of Hagfish and Gwar, bassist Nate Newton (Converge and Cave In and Doomriders and Old Man Gloom), drummer Thomas Cantwell (Gouge Away and Hesitation Wounds). Backup vocals include Long Neck’s Lily Mastrodimos along with Answering Machine’s J.D. Fetcho and Samantha Campanile. Olds also joins (as per usual) in his Gwarsenio Ha...

Hyundai Bringing Rad EV Concept Cars to Life for New Electric-Car Brand

In the increasingly competitive green-car space, the Hyundai Ioniq lineup hasn’t gained much traction. Many consumers haven’t even heard of the trio—it offers hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrains—of Ioniq hatchbacks currently available, and the EV variant isn’t at all competitive when it comes to range. Now Hyundai is seeking to changing the narrative by turning Ioniq into its own EV brand. Under the new label, the automaker will launch three electric vehicles in the next four years: a midsize crossover, a sedan, and a large SUV. The midsize crossover, dubbed Ioniq 5, arrives in early 2021 with what promises to be a compelling exterior design. It will be based on the super-cool 45 concept Hyundai debuted at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. This concept car featured sleek fa...

Taylor Swift’s ‘Folklore’ Outraces Fontaines D.C.’s ‘A Hero’s Death’ For U.K. Chart Title

The U.K. chart week was a game of two halves as Taylor Swift’s Folklore started slow but pulled away to snag a second successive week at No. 1. Folklore fell to No. 3 in the first half of the week, with Irish rockers Fontaines D.C. looking well set for their first No. 1 with A Hero’s Death (Partisan). However, Swift and her U.K. record company EMI changed the course of the race by bringing forward the release of Folklore on CD, and the LP dashed to the finish line in first position. When all streams and sales were tallied up, Folklore finished 3,500 chart sales ahead of Fontaines D.C.’s second set, which starts at No. 2 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart and is the market-leader in vinyl sales. {“nid”:”9431617″,”type”:”post”,”title”...
