It sure seems like the oft-rumored 2021 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray R Special Edition graphics package is going to make its debut very soon. These shots show a couple of Corvette C8.R racers and a white street-spec C8 with a distinctive, motorsport-inspired graphics package, sitting under a bridge at the iconic Wisconsin road course near Elkhart Lake ahead of this past weekend’s race. While a Chevrolet spokesperson we spoke to said there were no announcements at this time and that they couldn’t confirm whether this would show up on road-going C8s anytime soon, lining up the evidence before us (and leaked elsewhere) means we think the Stingray R is more of matter of when than if. One #Corvette will lead the field at #RoadAmerica. The other two lead the #IMSA #GTLM Championship for @TeamC...

Carole Baskin is not down for Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” video, which features some exotic cool cats. The Big Cat Rescue CEO tells Billboard that the rappers’ use of big cats as props could be detrimental to them, particularly since it might “glamorize” the idea of having them as pets. “My guess is that most people won’t even see the Photoshopped cats in the scenes because the rest of it is so lurid,” Baskin, who became a household name after Netflix’s Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness docuseries aired, wrote in a statement to Billboard. She added, “I was happy to see that it does appear to all be Photoshopped. It didn’t look like the cats were really in the rooms with the singers. In fact, probably m...
Rising rap star Chika added an unexpected, but unbelievably welcome, guest on to a recent Insagram Live: Snoop Dogg. And she’s still reeling in the afterglow of the pure moment that was their virtual meeting. “What the f—, Snoop in here?” she said once she noticed he was viewing her stream. “What’s up? What you doing? Now I feel like I have to do something entertaining. I’ve just been sitting here talking shit, being dumb. But I can smoke in your honor. You want me to roll up? I can do that and play some music.” She asked Snoop why he didn’t just join her live and added him, and the quarantine-era conversation was soon flowing. {“nid”:”9431037″,”type”:”post”,”title”:”Firs...

Former Agnostic Front bassist Alan Peters has died. The band confirmed the news in a Facebook statement on Friday, which you can read below: Today was a very sad day. We lost a solid a brother, a good friend, and a past bandmate who was part of the magic and making of our Liberty And Justice For… LP. Alan Peters is no longer with us. We would often see each other here and there mostly in Dallas. Last time he didn’t make the show and we figured we’d catch him a few months later. Sadly that never happened. Our deepest condolences for the Peters family. Alan had deep roots in the Pitsburgh [sic] scene and NYHC scene. Rest In Peace my brother, you will not be forgotten… Peters was a member of Agnostic Front from 1980-87 and appeared on the band’s 1987 album, Liberty and Justi...
Hayley Williams’ self-serenade Instagram series has undoubtedly been a bright spot in a pretty gloomy year, but all good things must come to an end (“for a while, anyway”). On Friday, the Paramore singer shared “the last of the self-serenades for a while, anyway” with a beautifully vulnerable cover of Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees.” After revealing that “the top requested song” throughout her “self-serenadism” was by Radiohead, Williams admitted it “seemed sacrilegious at first until i realized that the band themselves have never once regarded what they do as precious or never-to-be-toyed with” via Instagram. “they are never beholden to any one version of their expression and public affections don’t...
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of discovering an amazing new song — just ask twin brothers Tim and Fred Williams, who have been documenting their first-time reactions while listening to classic hits on YouTube. The 21-year-old siblings, who post under TwinsthenewTrend, have gone viral in recent months for their “First Time Hearing” video series, where they have recorded their priceless reactions and commentary while discovering music by icons such as Dolly Parton, Stevie Wonder, and Queen. In late July, the Williams brothers — who grew up mostly listening to rap — posted a particularly memorable clip of themselves listening to Phil Collins’ 1981 debut single “In the Air Tonight” for the first time. {“nid”:”8528...
Common is opening up for the first time about his romance with Tiffany Haddish, saying he couldn’t be happier with the new relationship. “She’s a wonderful woman, a queen, and just a beautiful person,” the 48-year-old rapper and actor said Friday (Aug. 7) during a virtual interview on Live With Kelly and Ryan. “I care for her a lot, enjoy her and am grateful to have her in my life. Yeah, I’m happy!” Haddish, 40, recently confirmed the couple’s relationship during an interview on Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast. {“nid”:”9429090″,”type”:”post”,”title”:”Tiffany Haddish Confirms Relationship With Common & Reveals They 'Got Tested For Everything'”,”relative_path”:”\/articles\/co...
Spotify, Amazon, Pandora and YouTube have been handed a procedural victory on their appeal to a 44% royalty rate increase for songwriters and publishers, sources tell Billboard. The U.S. Court of Appeals in D.C. that reviewed the digital services’ appeal on the Copyright Royalty Board’s (CRB) mechanical rate determination has thrown out the rate structure cobbled together by a majority of the board’s three judges, Billboard has learned. The ruling, which is under seal, could wash away the rate increase that the CRB judges — in a split 2–1 decision — had awarded songwriters and music publishers in January 2018. The CRB ruling was finalized in February 2019 and appealed by digital services a month later on grounds of procedural issues with how the CRB determined...
