Madonna, who has been strangely outspoken since the COVID-19 pandemic began (to put it mildly) found herself in some hot water on Tuesday night after sharing a post in praise of Dr. Stella Immanuel. Rewinding for just a sec, Dr. Immanuel is a doctor (obviously), and appeared on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court on July 27 as part of America’s Frontline Doctors to tout the use of hydroxychloroquine (which doesn’t work) as a cure for COVID-19 and says masks don’t help to reduce transmission. Oh, and the Houston-based Dr. Immanuel believes in “demon sperm” and “alien DNA” and is a favorite of President Donald Trump. That didn’t stop Madonna from singing her praises. “The Truth will set us all Free! But some people don’t want to hear the truth,” Madonna wrote. “Especially the people in ...

Beginning with a date at Summerfest in Milwaukee on July 10, their jaunt will see them play in stadiums across the country — just like they were supposed to do this year. The tour will conclude at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium (which houses LAFC) The band did caution in a release that a few of the dates will be canceled due to routing and venue availability. Of course, this is assuming everything with the pandemic has been sorted by then. Even during the downtime, the band has apparently stayed busy. Slash said in a recent interview that the band has been working on new music in quarantine. They also have strea...

Angel Olsen revealed that her new album, Whole New Mess, will be arriving on August 28 via Jagjaguwar. The album was recorded in October 2018 at The Unknown, a church-turned-studio in Washington run by Phil Elverum and Nicholas Wilbur in Anacortes. The upcoming project will also feature intimate, cinematic renditions of “Lark,” “Summer,” “Chance” and more songs that appeared on 2019’s All Mirrors. “I had gone through this breakup, but it was so much bigger than that—I’d lost friendships, too,” Olsen said of her vulnerable record. “When you get out of a relationship, you have to examine who you are or were in all the relationships. I wanted to record when I was still processing these feelings. These are the personal takes, encapsulated in a moment.” In celebration of ...

The controversial ordinance was first enacted in 1998. Home recording studios in Nashville can open for business once again. A longstanding law restricting client visits to home-based businesses in Nashville has been eliminated by the city’s Metro Council in a new bill, allowing home recording studios to legally operate in the city for the first time since 1998. Enacted on July 8, the amended ordinance now permits up to six customer visits per day between the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. To qualify under the new regulations, recording studios and other businesses that host customers on site and/or employ those who live outside the dwelling must first apply for a “home occupation” permit that requires proof of written notifications to owners of adjacent properties, as...

Case in point, we shift our focus to Sen. Tom Cotton and a ridiculously head*ss statement he made. While caping for a bill that would stop federal funding for a new and expansive curriculum on slavery that some school districts are considering using to train educators, Cotton expressed some ridiculousness. When speaking about slavery, he described it as a “necessary evil upon which the union was built, but the union was built in a way, as (Abraham) Lincoln said, to put slavery on the course to its ultimate extinction.” Speaking with the local newspaper The Arkansa...
