deadmau5 took to Instagram recently to share a teaser of a forthcoming VR project. The electronic music icon was mum on the details, however, writing nothing but an arcane caption along with the video that reads, “A breed of goat.” The teaser does divulge that the project was produced in collaboration with Epic Games‘ gameframe Unreal Engine as well as Geodesic Games and Upsurge Studios. The teaser closes in typically cryptic deadmau5 style with a nebulous message that says “Codename #Oberhasli.” An Oberhasli is a breed of dairy goat, which explain’s deadmau5’s caption but does nothing to demystify it in terms of the forthcoming project. After a brief hiatus, Billie Joe Armstrong seems to be back with consistent installments of his No Fun Monday cover series… only, on Fridays. After sharing a cover of Billy Bragg’s “A New England” last Friday “because no one knows what day it is anyway,” the Green Day frontman continued the trend this week with a rendition of The Equals’ 1967 track that is all too relatable today, “Police on My Back.” “This was originally written and performed by The Equals, Eddy Grant’s beat group from the 60 [sic],” Armstrong captioned the cover on Instagram. “And of course The Clash slay it.” Listen to Armstrong’s cover of “Police on My Back” below. This installment is the latest in a lengthy catalog Armstrong’s built since quarantine began. It follows his cover of The Wonders’ “That...

It’s a 1950 Ford F-6 two-ton dump truck that does wheelies, and no one planned any of it. The Roadkill project truck known as Stubby Bob started with a surprise in episode 44 when Mike Finnegan bought the truck off a farm as a gag. We then shortened the wheelbase from 158 to 104 inches for no apparent reason and walked away from it when the brakes didn’t work well enough for a road trip. The truck carries a supercharged big-block Chevy aft of the cab and drives the rear wheels through a Gearstar 4L80E transmission and an antique boat V-drive we scored off the coolest dude ever, Slim at Slim’s Fab Farm, home of rad choppers and wheelstanding vintage vans. In one of our favorite episodes, we threw this all together and created the world’s most unlikely and treacherous...
It can happen to the best of us. You’re just lounging around one Friday afternoon and think to yourself, “you know what? I think I’ll take the Ferrari F40 for a spin.” As you do. Sadly, for this poor owner, Ferrari Friday was quite literally wrecked. It happened in Queensland, Australia and videos and photos of the crash quickly made the rounds on the internet. The damage is extensive, and it looks like there isn’t a single body panel that was left intact. According to The Drive, the owner was taking the car on one final shakedown before putting the car up for sale the very next day. Apparently, it was the first time the car had been driven in five years, and old tires are probably part of the reason for the crash. Driving anything on old rubber is a bad ...

Lil Wayne welcomed fellow New Orleans native August Alsina to the season one finale of Young Money Radio, where the two artists revisited Alsina’s widely publicized past relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith. Alsina, who appeared on the Apple Music program Friday (July 17) to promote his third album, The Product III: State of Emergency, made headlines recently after Pinkett Smith confirmed that she and the singer were romantically involved during her separation from Will Smith. The 27-year-old “No Love” singer admitted to Weezy that he will always have feelings for Pinkett Smith — who described her relationship with Alsina as an “entanglement” during an episode of her Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk — and that the ordeal has changed his life for ...
The music community is mourning the loss of civil rights icon and longtime U.S. congressman John Lewis, who died Friday night (July 17) after battling pancreatic cancer. He was 80. Following his death, many artists took to social media to remember Lewis, who was the last last survivor of the Big Six civil rights activists, a group led by Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s. He is best perhaps known for leading hundreds of protesters in the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Alabama, in 1965. “Today we have lost a heroes’ Hero.. We’ve been receiving mixed messages between Will and Win Butler in regards to Arcade Fire’s new album, but early Saturday morning Win shared a 45-second song snippet via Instagram story that could be previewing his band’s new material. The series of clips show hands on a mixing board washed in an infrared filter as music streams in the background. The frontman opted to caption the video with ab uplifting message to fans rather than explaining what we’re listening to. “These are the strangest times . . . and everyone is going through stress and pain for a huge variety of reasons,” he wrote. “I just want to send a message of unity and hope that all the forces trying to keep us apart won’t be successful.” “Until the world is made whole. One body one soul. [Heart emoji] Win,” he concluded his ...
The Chicks (formerly the Dixie Chicks) have revealed a terrifying encounter with Harvey Weinstein. While talking with the Guardian, the band recalled a time when the disgraced movie mogul verbally abused the female directors of their 2006 documentary, Shut Up and Sing. The film, which was produced by Weinstein, followed the backlash the trio received after criticizing George W. Bush’s Iraq War. According to the group’s multi-instrumentalist Martie Maguire, Weinstein attempted to bully the directors into ending the documentary on a happy note, which seemed ingenuine. “He was standing, screaming at them,” she divulged. “We were all dumbfounded.” Singer Natalie Maines called the incident “one of the scariest meetings we’ve ever had” and considers it one of her biggest...
