Mickey Madden of Maroon 5 has taken a leave of absence from the band, according to several published reports. The bass player steps away from the Los Angeles pop-rock outfit just weeks after his arrest for alleged domestic violence. “I have some things that I need to deal with and address right now and so I have decided to leave Maroon 5,” Madden said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “During this time,” the statement continues, “I do not want to be a distraction to my bandmates. I wish them the absolute best.” As previously reported, Madden was arrested on June 27. The LAPD provided the charge as “273.5(a),” which, according to the California penal code, is “”any person who willfully inflicts corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition upon a vict...
Bigsound is back on the industry calendar. While the health crisis wrecks the touring industry around the globe, Australia’s main music industry conference and showcase is set for a return to Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley in 2020 at a later date than usual, and in a condensed, COVIDSafe format. The announcement this week caught the industry by surprise. The southern state of Victoria and its capital Melbourne, widely regarded at the country’s cultural mecca, has just entered a second lockdown to try curb a worrying spike in coronavirus cases. And there are worrying signs of an outbreak or two in New South Wales. The Bigsound show, however, will go on. Originally announced for Sept 1- 4, this year’s event will be reduced to a two-day, two-night event from Oct. 21. All activities will fo...

Source: Steven Ferdman / Getty Vivica Fox is all for a Kill Bill sequel, but with a new spin. During an interview with NME, Vivica Fox revealed her ideas for the follow up sequel, that will be the first in 17 years, to the cult classic. The actress, who played Vernita Green in the 2003 classic and now stars in drug kingpin thriller Arkansas, confirmed last month that Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman were in talks with the real possibility of a sequel. “I haven’t got any official word, I had a feeling that hopefully [Tarantino] was waiting on [the actress who plays] my daughter to grow up a little bit,” Fox said. “But then I was doing an interview and they asked ‘What young actress would you get to play your daughter?’ and I was like ‘No, Ambrosia [Kelley]!’ but they meant an est...
Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty It feels like it’s been a hot minute since Phresher had heads bopping uncontrollably with his breakthrough hit “Wait A Minute” and while Love & Hip Hop placed some much-needed shine on his career, the Brooklyn rapper isn’t giving up music for reality TV just yet. Linking up with Fivio Foreign and Stunna 4 Vegas in his visuals to “All The Smoke,” Phresher and company crash a European pub and show it’s patrons how to turn up and get lit with the hood representatives. Looked hella fun in there. Back in Kings County, Maino channels Will Smith as the last man alive in a world where a virus wiped out humanity and recreates I Am Legend in his Lyrivelli assisted clip to “Phases.” We miss that crown, Maino. If you want to get way out into the woods, desert, or mud with a 2021 Ford Bronco, you’ll be happy to know that the company has an onboard solution to help get you back home—no external GPS device needed. The new Bronco has features baked into its SYNC 4 system that will allow users to create, share, and navigate off-road routes right from the integrated 8.0- or 12.0-inch central infotainment screen—just the thing to set this new off-road SUV apart from its competition (ahem, Jeep Wrangler!). We’ve simulated what it might this not-nav setup look like above, using information about what maps the system will use. Before we dive any further into the (admittedly limited) details that we have on this system and how it’ll work, the integration here is the best part. There’...
When Jim Hackett took over as chief executive officer of Ford in 2017, he brought with him a design approach he calls “minimum viable prototypes. ” In short, Hackett’s mentality is that an automaker ought to avoid sinking too much money into expensive prototype vehicles, which oftentimes results in a company feeling financially compelled to see a potentially sub-par project to completion. Ford used this approach to create the 2021 Mustang Mach-E electric crossover, as well as the 2021 Bronco SUV. In the case of the latter, Hackett’s method allowed the team to play around with items such as the vehicle’s removable doors and roof, as well as the placement of the Bronco’s body panels and side mirrors, while affording them the ability to skirt the fine ...
Mason Ramsey sings till the cows come home after enjoying their eco-friendly lemongrass diet in the latest Burger King commercial that came out today (July 14). “When cows fart and burp and splatter/ well it ain’t no laughing matter/ They’re releasing methane every time they do/ And then methane from their rear goes up through the atmosphere/ And pollutes our planet, warming me and you,” Ramsey sings while exiting out of a cow’s rear in a rhinestoned white suit and ascending into outer space. But no one’s laughing in their matching rhinestoned gas masks to exemplify the dangers of cow-based greenhouse gas emissions. The 13-year-old twanging star yodels about the fast-food franchise’s latest experiment to find a diet for “reducing meth-aa-aa-aane, m...

A few months ago, Win Butler subtly shared that Arcade Fire was at work on their first studio album since 2017’s Everything Now. In announcing his new solo album today (July 14), Will Butler revealed that the band was at work, but circumstances, primarily COVID-19, threw a wrench into those plans. “Arcade Fire was recording. Well, we were recording… But now our drummer is in Australia, two of us are in Canada, and the rest are in America,” Butler said in an interview with NME. “Australia are having a crazy outbreak, the border to Canada is sealed right now… like, Jesus Christ. It takes more logistics to get together. It always took a certain amount of logistics, but right now it’s insurmountable.” The problem with the sessions, at least as of now, Butler says the band won’t know ...
