Darren Criss Pays Tribute to Naya Rivera: ‘Rest in Peace You Wild, Hilarious, Beautiful Angel’

Following the devastating news on Monday (July 13) that Naya Rivera has been declared dead, a number of her Glee co-stars have taken to social media to remember her vibrant, quick-witted presence. Darren Criss, who played the charming Warbler Blaine Anderson, shared a string of thoughts in honor of his late co-star. “She was bold. She was outrageous. She was a LOT of fun,” he tweeted. “Naya made me laugh like no one else on that set. I always said it while we were working together and I’ve maintained it ever since. Her playful, wicked sense of humor never ceased to bring a smile to my face.” She was bold. She was outrageous. She was a LOT of fun. Naya made me laugh like no one else on that set. I always said it while we were working together and I’ve maintained...

Mike Skinner is streets ahead on the midweek U.K. albums chart. The Birmingham artist and producer, who records as The Streets, bolts to No. 1 on the Official Chart Update with None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive (Island), which takes the lead by almost 3,000 combined sales, according to the Official Charts Company. If it holds its position when the Official U.K Albums Chart is published this Friday, it’ll be The Streets’ first leader in 14 years. Skinner has tasted the high life twice. With his 2004 sophomore album A Grand Don’t Come For Free (for which he won the Brit Award for British male solo artist) and 2006’s The Hardest Way To Make A Living. In second place is Juice Wrld’s posthumous set Legends Never Die (Interscope), the leader on streams in the first half of the week, ...

Kygo and Tina Turner to Release Remix of Iconic Single “What’s Love Got to Do with It”

After featuring vocals from the late Whitney Houston on their cover of Steve Winwood‘s “Higher Love” last summer, Kygo is gearing up for the release of his next big pop crossover. This time, the tropical house trailblazer will assist Tina Turner in a remix of her 1984 classic “What’s Love Got to Do with It.” At the time of writing, neither Kygo nor Turner have released a preview of the song, but have shared what is presumed to be the album art for the remix. Alongside information on the release date of the single, Kygo posted to his social media accounts and shared how much of an honor it was to work with an artist of Turner’s caliber. “Can’t believe I’m releasing a collab with [Tina Turner] this Friday!” he wrote. “R...

The rapper surprised fans with a new song dedicated to his late mother. West surprised his loyal fans by dropping the track named “Donda” on Sunday (Jul.12), which would have been his late mother’s 71st birthday. Accompanying a video comprised of clips, the song features West’s mom reciting fellow Hip-Hop legend, KRS-One’s lyrics from his classic song “Sound of da Police.” Midway through the song Donda West recites: “There can never really be justice on stolen land,” she recites the powerful lines. “Are you really for peace and equality? Or when my car’s hooked up — know you wanna follow me? Your laws are minimal because you won’t even think about the rea...

T.I. Claims 50 Cent Gets More Respect Than Nelly Because Of East Coast Ties

Source: Manny Hernandez / Getty When Andre 3000 said “the South has something to say” it would be prophetic in so many ways. T.I. is campaigning hard for all the talent from below the Mason Dixie line. As spotted on HipHopDX the “Swagger Like Us” rapper is being very vocal to what he perceives is unfair advantage East Coast rappers have over the rest of the map. Last week he called up Kevin Hart to negotiate a Verzuz between he and 50 Cent. Unfortunately, Curtis did not feel he was on his level and went on to quickly deny the challenge. Since the dismissal, Tip has voiced his concern about how New York rappers get precedence when it comes to how their legacies are ranked. In a recent interview with HOT 97, he detailed his frustrations with Ebro Darden and Peter Rosenberg. “N...

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Tory Lanez is not here for August Alsina‘s loose lips and decided to let him know on record. On Saturday (July 11), Lanez decided to drop his new song inspired by Jada Pinkett’s now-infamous Red Table Talk interview with husband, Will Smith, discussing the then rumored “entanglement” with singer August Alsina. After the jokes began to fly, Tory Lanez weighed in sharing his remix to Lil Baby and 42 Dugg’s “We Paid”, Lanez made sure to announce where his allegiance lies, calling out the Forever and a Day singer for “snitching” about the affair. “Let me start f*ckin’ on Jada, I ain’t gon’ snitch like August,” Tory raps on the beat. “Look at her face like Will…” While he may be sending shots on behalf of the Smiths’ matriarch, on Friday (July 10,) the “I Luv T...

Kanye West at 2% in First National Poll Since Announcing Presidential Run

Kanye West may want to be president, but he has a long way to go if it’s actually going to happen (for a number of reasons). In the first piece of polling data to take into account the rapper/mogul’s candidacy, West is polling at a not-so-good 2%. Redfield & Wilton Strategies polled 2,000 registered voters in the U.S. and let’s just say that they’re not as impressed with West’s platform as he seems to be. Joe Biden leads the pack with 48%, with Donald Trump in second with 40%. When West is included in the poll, Trump’s number dips to 39% while Biden’s remains the same. On July 4, West issued his own declaration when he announced a presidential run. He was initially supported by Elon Musk, who has since walked back his endorsement following West’s interview with ...

Detangled: DJ Akademiks Claims Complex Fired Him; Drops New Freestyle [Video]

Source: Earl Gibson III / Getty Hip-Hop’s most hated media personality has apparently been shown the door. DJ Akademiks is saying he has been fired from his talk show. The last couple of weeks have been filled more downs than ups for the Jamaica-American. It started out with his criticism of Freddie Gibbs that lead to a very snarky back and forth with the Gary, Ind. rapper. From there he got into some a war of words with Meek Mill who pointed out his culture vulture vibes. Somehow that set the stage to him to dropping some very harsh bombs on Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. Last week it was reported AK was suspended from Complex for his actions. As spotted on Hot New Hip Hop it seems he has been terminated from his position on Everyday Struggle. On Sunday (July 12), Ak shared a post via so...
