Maroon 5 Announces New Routing for 2021 Tour
Maroon 5 was one of countless artists who were forced to cancel their 2020 tour dates as the coronavirus continues to spread. However, the group announced on Monday (July 13) their official 2021 dates. Tickets and LaneOne Premium Packages purchased for the band’s 2020 tour will be honored for the new dates. A new show at NYC’s Madison Square Garden has also been added for September 10, 2021. Unfortunately, the band’s concerts in Hartford, CT at XFINITY Theater, as well as Flushing, NY at CITI Field will be cancelled. Ticket holders for Flushing will receive an email with an opportunity for a pre-sale for the MSG show, or a refund. Talib Kweli to Release New Album, Announces Patreon Campaign
Talib Kweli has announced that he’ll be releasing a new album titled Cultural Currency, but if you want to hear it, it’s not going to be available through traditional means. The rapper will be releasing the album (which has no release date) through a new Patreon campaign, where fans have three different options to contribute. Ranging from $5 per month to $25 per month, benefits include receiving a new track being released every month for 12 months and an unreleased track/video from hip hop legends curated by the rapper. Nick Cave Releases Trailer for Idiot Prayer
Earlier this month, Nick Cave announced that he’ll be doing a special solo performance on July 23. And today (July 13), he dropped the trailer for Idiot Prayer: Nick Cave Alone at Alexandra Palace. In the video, Cave is seen penning some things in a notebook before walking into an empty Alexandra Palace where a piano is positioned in the center of the main hall. But in quarantine, the indie vets decided to drop a new song titled “James and Ira demonstrate mysticism and some confusion holds (Monday)” that they recently recorded at their practice facility in New Jersey while in quarantine. The 20th anniversary edition of Australia’s Splendour In the Grass is more than a year away, though festival-fans just got a taste of what’s to come. On Monday, organizers confirmed Tyler, The Creator and The Strokes have signed up for the rescheduled Splendour dates, now set for July 23-25, 2021. Also, virtual British band Gorillaz will slot into the top of the bill. The Damon Albarn-led project replaces Flume, who was originally booked for Splendour’s 2020 edition, but isn’t available for the new dates in 2021. Kelly Preston, the actress who starred in such movies as Jerry Maguire and, most recently, opposite husband John Travolta in Gotti, has died. She was 57.
