Ryan Adams Reveals He’s Sober in Apology to Abuse Victims

It’s been nearly a year since Ryan Adams broke his silence following allegations of abuse made by Mandy Moore, Phoebe Bridgers, and more women, and on Saturday the singer-songwriter penned a lengthy apology published in The Daily Mail, where he took accountability for his behavior and revealed he’s sober and working on new music. “There are no words to express how bad I feel about the ways I’ve mistreated people throughout my life and career. All I can say is that I’m sorry. It’s that simple,” he began his message. “This period of isolation and reflection made me realize that I needed to make significant changes in my life. I’ve gotten past the point where I would be apologizing just for the sake of being let off the hook and I know full well that any apology from me probabl...

Neil Young Denounces Use of ‘Rockin in the Free World’ Ahead of Trump Speech

President Donald Trump had a speech scheduled at Mt. Rushmore ahead of the 4th of July holiday. At the event, Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” “Like a Hurricane” and “Cowgirl in the Sand” were blaring over the speakers. Needless to say, Young was none-too-pleased. “This is NOT ok with me…” a tweet from Young read (Neil Young Archives is his official account). He also said that he stood with Lakota Sioux, who have said that Mt. Rushmore is carved into an area that is considered sacred land. If that wasn’t enough, Trump ended up playing “Rockin’ in the Free World” as he walked off stage, which is a move that is likely to get Young to respond again. Young is the latest musician to denounce the Trump campaign’s use of their music. In May, the Village People’s Victor Willis denoun...

I challenge my awesome friends to show off their mask game!” “I need that,” Mark Ronson commented on her picture. The interview airs on Saturday (July 4), exactly 25 years after Foo Fighters’ debut, self-titled album arrived (on July 4, 1995). Grohl admitted that when he joined Nirvana and they became “really huge really quickly,” he was still insecure that he wasn’t quite good enough for the band. “Well I mean I joined Nirvana, I was their fifth drummer, right?” he said. “They’d had a team of drummers before me and some of them were more, I don’t know, more in the band than others. So when I joined the band, I didn’t know Krist and Kurt at all. And when we first met and s...

John Carpenter Releases Two-Song Single, ‘Skeleton’ and ‘Unclean Spirit’

Halloween came early this year, and no we’re not saying that because of the nightmarish state of the world. On Friday, John Carpenter shared two haunting new songs — “Skeleton” and “Unclean Spirit” — marking the legendary composer/director’s first non-soundtrack compositions since 2016’s Lost Themes II. The slasher film king again teamed up with son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies, whom he collaborated with for the David Gordon Green-directed Halloween films. “It was refreshing to be able to write music that didn’t have to fit to any sort of locked image,” Carpenter said in a statement. “We also had a specific focus and direction we wanted to follow when working on Halloween, both in terms of mindset and instruments, and being able to return to working without that narrow...

We Didn’t Ask For This: NFL To Play Black National Anthem Before Games In Week 1

Source: Drew Angerer / Getty The NFL has long been a breeding ground for racism and inequity and it appears by most accounts that the league snuffed out Colin Kaepernick for using his given right of expression to boot. Supposedly turning a corner, NFL officials are graciously (expressed with all the sarcasm) allowing the National Black Anthem to be played before all the games held in the first week of the upcoming season, an act nobody needed or asked for. As reported first by The Undefeated via a source, the NFL’s hollow act of solidarity with the plight of Black folks will feature the playing or singing of “Lift Ev’ry Voice And Sing” and officials will examine other ways to call attention to the same injustices Kaepernick called out during his playing days. That same source said that the...

The ’90s rapper was slated to perform at Emerald Point Bar and Grill tonight, but canceled the show due to backlash as COVID-19 numbers continue to rise in Texas. “I listen to my fans.
