Weezer Give The Simpsons’ Theme Song the Rock Concert Treatment

Weezer’s big appearance on The Simpsons premiered last night (May 10), and it featured a full re-working of the iconic theme song for the animated series. During the end credits of the episode, entitled “The Hateful Eight-Year-Olds,” Weezer are seen performing Danny Elfman’s theme music but with more electric guitars and heavy drum action. It also gave viewers a sense of nostalgia for what it felt like to be at a concert again with the animated crowds cheering them on. Kurt Cobain’s MTV Unplugged Guitar to Be Auctioned Off

If you ever wanted to know what it felt to sound like Kurt Cobain, now’s your chance. Though it definitely won’t be cheap. Cobain’s 1959 Martin D-18E acoustic-electric guitar, which he used on MTV Unplugged, will be auctioned off by Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills on June 19-20. It’s valued at…$1 million. Metallica Perform The Black Album in Full on Latest Livestream

Metallica has dug deep and not so deep into their catalog for its #MetallicaMondays livestream. This week’s, however, draws upon a rare moment in the band’s history. Coming from Nickelsdorf in Austria where they performed on June 10, 2012, Metallica celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Black Album. Here, they performed the album in full, which included rare performances of  “My Friend of Misery,” “Don’t Tread on Me,” and “The Struggle Within.” As usual, the stream will begin at 8 pm EST/5 pm PST. Kosine, whose real name is Marcos Palacios, is one-half of the production duo Da Internz.
