HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: Rob Carr / Getty The Washington Football Team made a wise move in removing its former team name from a racist slur after years of criticism from football fans and sponsors alike. On Wednesday (Feb. 2), the team changed its name to the Washington Commanders and NFL Twitter has plenty to say about the big reveal. First established in 1932 in Buffalo, N.Y., the team was first given the name the Braves, named after the Boston Braves (now Atlanta Braves) Major League Baseball team. It was later changed to the Redskins and the name persisted until 2020 when the team hired coach Ron Rivera and promised to honor the call to remove the logo and slur. At one point, it appeared that the WFT moniker would have to stick after it was reported a Virginia man trade...

Dying Light 2 Stay Human keeps the same energy from the first game but adds a bevy of fresh additions to take the sequel to another level. Players take control of Aiden Caldwell, a pilgrim or a runner, who basically navigates through the city carrying out tasks for people afraid to traverse the dangerous world now infested with zombies thanks to a virus unleashed by the GRE (Global Relief Effort), the antagonistic entity fans of the first game will remember. After learning the GRE wasn’t looking for a cu...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Before The Lox officially joined Ruff Ryders and took over the streets with their gritty style of Hip-Hop music, some might’ve forgotten that they were signed to Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy records and were a big part of the “shiny suit” era that many have slandered over the decades. Something Verzuz Gawd Jadakiss isn’t fond of. Recently Jadakiss opened up about having had to wear that dreaded attire in the late 90’s and in an interview with Nas and Ms. Info for The Bridge: 50 Years of Hip Hop podcast, Jay-To-The-Muah once again stated that he “hated” the gleaming threads. “We never felt comfortable one time wearing [the shiny suits],” Kiss said. “Ma$e loved it… ‘I’m wearing this one.’ When he looked in his dressing room and seen that ...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: JEFF HAYNES / Getty We’ve just passed the second anniversary of the tragic passing of NBA icon/legend, Kobe Bryant and while the thought of him not being here still hurts millions of his fans, Allen Iverson also seems to get all the feelings when memories of Kobe are brought up. TMZ is reporting that recently “The Answer” got lowkey emotional when a fan presented him with a picture of AI and Kobe Bryant standing side-by-side at a signing event last weekend. Seemingly surprised that the picture even existed, Allen paused to say “Daaamn! Whose is this? This is yours? After the fan said it was indeed his, Allen bluntly asked “Man, you going to give me one? You got another one for me? Man, I need one of these!” The fan said he had a few in the stash and would...
HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: Sean Zanni / Getty Rihanna broke the internet yesterday when it was revealed that she and A$AP Rocky were expecting their first child together and though neither of them actually confirmed that there was a bun in the oven, that baby bump pic was enough confirmation for us.Now the couple’s celebrity friends have taken to social media to congratulate the happy couple on their upcoming bundle of joy and while Drake and Chris Brown have remained silent on the matter (those memes of them crying have been hilarious), Nicki Minaj, Lizzo, and others have posted their excitement and well wishes on their personal pages.
