Over the weekend, Limp Bizkit canceled the remainder of their summer US tour, citing “an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of the band, crew and most of all the fans.” Now, Fred Durst has further expanded on the reason for the cancellation, citing the COVID-19 pandemic while still not going into specific details. Following their initial statement, both Durst and guitarist Wes Borland took to their Instagram Stories to announce that Borland did not test positive for COVID-19, as some reports had suggested. Get ready, y’all! Limp Bizkit are taking their show on the road this summer for a month’s worth of headlining US gigs with support from rising metal band Spiritbox. The jaunt, dubbed “The Limited Post Pandemic Popup Party”, will feature Fred Durst and company playing a number of intimate venues. The tour kicks off July 29th at the Metro in Chicago, and runs through an August 24th gig at the Palladium in Los Angeles. An August 13th show at the recently renovated Irving Plaza in New York City takes place in the middle of the trek. Fieldy Announces Hiatus from Korn After Falling Back on “Bad Habits”
Founding Korn member Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu has announced a hiatus that will keep him from the nu-metal pioneers’ upcoming US tour. According to the musician, he needs time off in order to deal with “personal issues” that have led him to fall back on “bad habits.” The bassist revealed the news via his Instagram page on Monday, June 21st. Korn recently announced an extensive 2021 tour with Staind that kicks off in early August and runs through late September. Korn have announced a livestream performance, dubbed “Korn: Monumental”, that will see the band performing from within the setting of Stranger Things: The Drive-Into Experience in Los Angeles. The concert goes live globally on April 24th. The virtual show is Korn’s first livestream event.
