Demi Lovato Weighs In on Washington Siege: ‘I’m Angry, Embarrassed and Ashamed’

Like millions of Americans watching on at home, Demi Lovato was horrified by images of the siege on the Capitol. And like many others who vented their frustrations on social media, the pop star wants the nightmare to end, now. Turning to Twitter, Lovato joined the chorus of calls for president Trump’s impeachment, and vowed to convert her misery into new music. “My heart is broken,” she writes on Twitter. “It makes me to sad to believe how naive I was to think this couldn’t possibly happen, and yet it did. Here we are. For everyone in my comments saying “where’s d7” or wanting me to sing instead of speaking up about what needs to change in this country…” You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. DJ at Trump’s MAGA Rally Trolls Crowd With “My Heart Will Go On” From Titanic

The DJ at Donald Trump’s farewell MAGA rally was either an utter genius or a complete imbecile. While Trump’s cronies desperately cycled on-stage in Washington D.C.’s Ellipse to protest Trump’s obvious election loss, the person on the ones and twos slyly soundtracked the event with famous songs about defeat. As Uproxx points out, the DJ at Trump’s Save America Rally selected a funeral mix that included Celine Dion’s Titanic theme “My Heart Will Go On”, the iconic score for a movie about a historic disaster; Linkin Park’s “In The End”, a song about trying “so hard” but losing it all anyways; and Elton John’s “Funeral for a Friend”, a song that John wrote while imagining his own funeral. The DJ also played Pink Floyd’s “Brain Damage”, Linkin Park’s “I Tried So Hard”, and John’s “Ca...

Rev. Raphael Warnock Becomes Georgia’s 1st Black U.S. Senator, Ossoff Appears To Have Won As Well

Source: Michael M. Santiago / Getty Georgia became the epicenter of U.S. politics on Tuesday (Jan. 5) as a pair of runoff elections would help determine which political party would control the U.S. Senate and Congress for at least the next two years. Rev. Raphael Warnock defeated Sen. David Perdue to become the state’s first Black senator and all signs point to Jon Ossoff becoming the state’s first Jewish senator. On the heels of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris defeating President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, the balance of control of the U.S. Congress hinged on the critical Georgia races, which would give the Democratic Party full control of both chambers. Warnock, who is the senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, is also the f...

Celebrities React to Georgia Runoff Election Results

Georgia’s Senate races advanced to runoff elections on Tuesday (Jan. 5), after no candidate garnered more than 50% of the general election vote. The runoff is a crucial one, as the races between Republican Sen. David Perdue and Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler and the Rev. Raphael Warnock will determine which party controls the Senate. If the Democrats win both races, each party will have 50 seats in Congress’ upper chamber. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, however, will be the tie-breaking vote for the Democratic Party. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. Stephen Colbert Mocks Trump, Jokes We’d Have President BTS If Rally Sizes Determined Election Winner

Stephen Colbert poked fun at one of the arguments in President Donald Trump’s leaked phone call to “find” more votes by saying if rally sizes had the power that votes did, then BTS would be our next president. The Washington Post obtained an audio recording of Trump’s phone conversation with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Jan. 3, in which Trump pressured him to find 11,780 additional votes in the president’s favor during a recount that would not indicate Joe Biden as a clear winner. “We won very substantially in Georgia. You even see it by rally size, frankly. We’d be getting 25-30,000 people a rally,” Trump argued. But The Late Show With Stephen Colbert host had a counterargument tied to a...

Anambra election: PDP orders members to withdraw all litigations against party

File Photo The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked its members in court against the leadership of the party in Anambra to withdraw all litigations ahead of the November governorship poll in the state. The South-East National Vice Chairman of the party, Chief Ali Odefa, made the request in Awka during a meeting of the Zonal Working Committee with stakeholders in the state on Monday. Odefa said that it was in the overriding interest of the party for peace and unity to reign ahead of the poll. According to him, the party needs unity and cannot afford any court distractions, if it must form the next government in Anambra. He, therefore, urged the aggrieved party members to direct their complaints to the zonal leadership for amicable and dispassionate resolution. Odefa, who expressed satis...

Vanilla Ice, Mike Love-Led Beach Boys Headline Trump’s Mar-A-Lago New Year’s Eve Party

Donald Trump Jr. sings along to Vanilla Ice at Mar-A-Lago New Year’s Eve party Donald Trump’s South Florida resort Mar-a-Lago threw a New Year’s Eve bash to celebrate the end of a year which saw the deaths of 346,000 Americans due in large part to the Trump Administration’s sheer incompetence and disinterest in managing the pandemic. Masks were, of course, optional. Some 500 of MAGA’s finest — including Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Rudy Giuliani, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Judge Jeanine Pirro, and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell — attended the black tie event. (Donald Trump himself was not in attendance, as he returned home to Washington, DC early in order to plot out his election coup.) Non-Trump family members paid up to $1,000 for the right to eat from a menu that included “Mr. Trum...

Edo election: APC, deputy governor bicker over court case

Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Deputy Governor of the state, Rt. Hon Philip Shaibu has engaged in a war of words over a pre-election matter in the court as Shiabu alleged that the former National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole had recently said that the Supreme Court would give his party victory like the case of Imo state. But in a statement yesterday by the State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Chris Azebanmwan, the allegation which he described as weighty was false and that Shaibu was engaging in a smear campaign against Oshiomhole. He said, “The statement which he credited to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is a blatant falsehood as no such words emanated from the elder statesman. It is a smear campaign that is aimed at tarnishing the pristine i...
