These Young Poll Workers Are Volunteering Because ‘Every Single Vote Matters’

By De Elizabeth Four years ago, Stormie Conn was 16. Unable to participate in the presidential election that November, she found herself frustrated by the inability to tap into the collective power of voting, especially when she learned of the results. “I went to school the next day and all my friends were sobbing in the hallway,” she recalls. “I felt so hopeless. I promised myself that next time around, I would do everything I could.” Today, Conn is making good on that promise. With her early vote already submitted, she’s turned her focus on volunteering as a poll worker on Election Day, where she will assist her fellow Omaha, Nebraska, residents with casting their ballots efficiently and safely. “I saw a lot of my friends on Twitter talk about becoming poll workers and encouraging others...

Trump Holds Another Super-Spreader Event To Celebrate Swearing In Supreme Court Justice

Source: Tasos Katopodis / Getty While Americans are still suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the GOP successfully filled the late Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s Supreme Court seat. Instead of focusing on a new COVID-19 relief package to help Americans reeling after losing their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Republicans were laser-focused on getting Amy Coney Barrett confirmed. With no support from Democrats —  the first time in 151 years, there was no single vote from the minority party — Senate Republicans delivered. Now the Supreme Court is more conservative-leaning than it has ever been in years. Donald Trump and his cronies didn’t learn their lesson from the last Rose Garden ceremony and wasted no time holding another potential COVID-19 super-spreader event celebrating now Justic...

Ice Cube Shares Details Of Talk With Trump, Says He’s “Not Playing Politics”

Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Ice Cube has fallen somewhat out of favor with many after the news he met with members of President Donald Trump’s administration to discuss his Contract With Black America policy plan. We Love To See It: Obama Campaigns For Joe Biden In Florida With More Smoke For Trump

Source: Miami Herald / Getty Our forever President, Barack Obama, has been hitting the campaign trail to rally up the people for his former running mate Joe Biden and the unfiltered critiques against his predecessor are showing a side of Obama most of us have been hoping for. On Saturday (Oct. 24) while campaigning in Miami, the 44th President slammed Trump for his response to the coronavirus pandemic and reckless and maniacal tweets aimed at critics, adding the joke that “Florida Man wouldn’t even do this stuff.” President Obama also noted that a win for his former vice president would mean the United States would have a “normal president,” criticizing Trump for going “out of his way to insult anybody who he doesn’t think is nice enough to him.” “We won’t have a president who threatens pe...

Delusions of Grandeur: Trump Claims ’60 Minutes’ Interview Walk Out Showed “Strength”

Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Donald Trump once again allowed his immaturity to show, but in traditional Trump fashion, he’s acting as if his unruly behavior is a form of acceptable behavior. On Sunday (Oct 25), CBS aired the edited 60 Minute episode that featured Trump’s response to the “tough questions” asked by veteran journalist Lesley Stahl. The episode, which opens with a seemingly already upset Trump ended up bolstering a whopping 16 lies in less than 30 minutes, according to CNN fact-checkers, with the biggest and most notable lie being about his response to the pandemic and his still unrevealed healthcare plan. “You brought up a lot of subjects that were inappropriately brought up,” Trump said. “Well, I said, I’m going to ask you tough questions,” Leslie Stahl replied. Afte...

Donald Trump Gains Lil Pump’s Endorsement, But Loses 50 Cent’s

We’re just over a week away from the election; if you truly don’t know who you’re voting for yet, there’s probably not a lot that can be said to convince you one way or another. But if for some reason what millionaire rappers think might sway you, consider this: Lil Pump has now endorsed Donald Trump, just as former champion 50 Cent has jumped off the bandwagon. Lil Pump made his political allegiance known in a pair of Instagram posts. One featured the rapper’s face photoshopped into a picture of someone shaking Trump’s hand. “THE DAY I MET TRUMP,” read the caption, along with the gobbledygook hashtag #trump202022020. In a since-deleted follow-up video, the Harvard Dropout rapper made clear his stance was based on the same misleading tax numbers 50 Cent used in his own endorsement of the c...
