Have you seen Paramore’s newest album cover? No, it’s not for the pop-punk stalwarts’ upcoming LP This Is Why, but as Kerrang points out, the band have instead swapped the official artwork for their 2013 self-titled on all streaming platforms. If you’ll recall, the original artwork for Paramore was a high-contrast photo of vocalist Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and former bassist Jeremy Davis against a black backdrop. Now, the artwork is a photo of Williams alone — or, you know, someone else with bright orange hair — wearing a jean jacket emblazoned with the words “grow up” on the back. We’re not trying to point fingers, but the switch-up here seems pretty pointed, considering things with Davis did not end on the best of terms. Shortly following his (third!) offici...
Emo rapper nothing, nowhere. has shared the new single “CYAN1DE” featuring vocals from Fall Out Boy bassist-singer Pete Wentz. The track signals a new heavy direction for nothing, nowhere. — aka Joe Mulherin. Although he still raps the verses, the production features heavily distorted guitars and rock instrumentation. Wentz takes over the chorus, providing the screams he delivered on early Fall Out Boy releases, but with a nu-metal vibe. “Simply put, I’m proud of this song,” remarked nothing, nowhere. in a press statement. “Pete is a legend and I couldn’t be more excited for the future of nothing, nowhere.” Advertisement Related Video Added Wentz: “‘CYAN1DE’ reminds me of the first heavy music I got into and the bands I would scrawl on my trapper keeper at school. It’s an honor to be a pa...

After an unfortunately-canceled first day, When We Were Young’s inaugural festival finally kicked off this past Sunday (October 23rd) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Featuring a much-lauded, all-star lineup of emo, pop-punk, and indie rock, the festival overcame high expectations and extreme weather to deliver a day’s worth of nostalgic, angsty fun. Check out photos of the day below, featuring shots of Jimmy Eat World, Avril Lavigne, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, and more. From its announcement, When We Were Young was both hotly anticipated and heavily scrutinized. Skeptics pointed towards the relatively large size of the lineup for a single-day festival, predicting artist cancelations, general chaos, and conditions akin to Fyre Festival. While it might have seemed like the detractors wer...
Yungblud fans can now bid on a one-of-a-kind piece of merchandise, and it’s for a pretty good cause. The English artist has teamed up with 5 Gum and the luxury jewelry artist Greg Yuna for a line of necklaces that feature gum chewed by Yungblud himself, and all the proceeds benefit the National Independent Venue Foundation (NIVF). 5 Gum sponsored Yungblud’s recent US tour, and he chewed some of the company’s products before hitting the stage every night. Yuna encased the gum in Lucite and created 15 necklaces that feature white diamonds and a charm engraved with the 5 Gum logo and Yuna’s signature stamp, all on a 14K white gold chain. The jewelry — known as the “Masterpieces” collection — comes with a certificate of authentication and a pack of the limited-edition Cobalt Peppermint 5...

After Tom DeLonge left Blink-182 in 2015, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker turned to Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio to continue the project. Blink’s classic lineup is now reuniting, and DeLonge has shared a message thanking Skiba for “all that you have done to keep the band alive.” “I sent this to Matt personally,” DeLonge wrote in a social media statement, “but it’s important for the world to know that I honor him.” The letter reads: “I wanted to take a minute and say thank you for all that you have done to keep the band alive and thriving in my absence. I think you are enormously talented (I still love to listen to your band to this day). You have always been so kind to me, not only in the press, but also to others. I really noticed. Emotions between the three of us in...
Millennials rejoiced when Blink-182 announced that their most iconic lineup — bassist Mark Hoppus, drummer Travis Barker, and guitarist Tom DeLonge — was reuniting for new music and a world tour. Since 2015, Hoppus and Barker had carried on the pop punk band’s tradition with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba, but the return of DeLonge signaled a return to their goofball heydey — complete with a ridiculous announcement video that repeated, over and over, that they were “coming.” On October 14th, the classic Blink-182 lineup will officially return with a new song called “Edging,” and next year, they’ll embark on a world tour that includes stops in North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand (equally noteworthy is a headlining show at the second addition of the When We Were Youn...
As if Blink-182 reuniting their classic lineup wasn’t exciting enough, Mark Hoppus has revealed he’s working on a memoir about his career with the band and recent battle with cancer. In a red carpet interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the singer and bassist said he was “finalizing the deal” for the book, which he started writing earlier this year. “I’m not that far into it yet but I’m writing a book about my life and experience in Blink and what I’ve gone through over the past year or so,” Hoppus said about the project, which he described to THR as a combination of a music memoir and medical journey. “We’re finalizing the deal and I’m really happy with the way that’s coming together. I’m excited to tell my story.” Hoppus also spoke about accidentally revealing his battle with diffu...
