HBO Teases New Lana Del Rey Song From the Euphoria Soundtrack

Considering HBO’s smash drama Euphoria follows the lives of troubled, indulgent teens, it’s honestly surprising it’s taken the show this long to include a song by the patron saint of troubled indulgence herself: Lana Del Rey. The official Euphoria Twitter account has shared a clip previewing the next episode, soundtracked to a new song by Del Rey. While the video is just shy of a minute, that’s still long enough to indicate that this new song is tried-and-true Del Rey: Sweeping contralto vocals, an arpeggiated guitar riff, and an overall sense of heartache. This episode — Season 2, episode 3 — is set to air next Sunday. Fred Parris, bandleader of The Five Satins, a doo-wop group known for their smash hit “In the Still of the Night,” died Thursday at the age of 85. “Fred’s classic song ‘In the Still of the Night’ has been recognized as one of the greatest love songs of all time and the number one requested song of the doo-wop era,” Parris’ family wrote on his Facebook page. “Fred also wrote several other classic songs and his gorgeous voice enthralled audiences world-wide for decades. The Five Satins family is devastated by this loss but appreciative of having shared Fred’s music with thousands of fans and friends.” Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Parris discovered R&B music while digging through his family’s records and spent his youth singing in local groups. Ed Sheeran Wants to Build a Crypt on His Estate

For the uber-famous, privacy comes at a cost. Just ask Ed Sheeran, who’s waiting for approval from the county government to build a crypt beneath the floor of a chapel on his massive estate in Suffolk, England, according to the Guardian. Back in 2019, Sheeran was approved for building a chapel on the $5 million property, with the intent for it to serve as a “private place of retreat for contemplation and prayer.” This chapel will come complete with flint-lined walls, a spiral-staircase tower, a lead roof, and stained-glass windows. Last month, the singer filed a new application seeking permission to add a full-on crypt to that chapel. The below-ground chamber would measure about six by nine feet.
