The pic is actually a forgotten golden oldie. “Kinda missin this one,” writes Selena. Gomez shared others from the same shoot on her Instagram Stories back in 2019. At the time, Gomez captioned the happy snaps: “My ride or die. I would die for this one. Thank you for forever being by my side. You have taught me so much, walked through all of this with me, STAYED and you remind me to be a better, human being. I’m on your side for life.” Gomez and Swift have been too busy to pose of late. Swift performed at the 2021 Grammy Awards last week, where she took out album of the year for Folklore. Meanwhile, Gomez’s first Spanish-language EP Revelación has just debuted atop Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart, her first No. 1 on the survey. Check o...
Then she live-debuted her new song “Dancing With the Devil,” breathing life into the full version of the damning confessional ballad that plays in the background of the trailer. The track vividly recalls her life-threatening heroin overdose in 2018 when she sings in the second verse, “Tin-foil remedy, almost got the best of me/ I keep praying I don’t reach the end of my lifetime.” Following the performance, Ratner previewed a conversation he and Lovato filmed for SXSW, where the docuseries opened last week at the virtual adaptation of the film festival based in Lovato’s home state of Texas. While COVID-19 completely skewed people’s personal and professional schedules, the timing of Dancing’s release might’ve been one of the few things that happened at exa...

The virtual event on Sunday night (March 21) brought to life “songs, stories and traditions that define the DNA” of Texas, McConaughey said, to encourage viewers to make donations to help Texans facing hardship get back on their feet after the cold weather snap in February that devastated much of the state. The winter storm left thousands without heat, water and electricity. Kacey Musgraves gave a nod to another Texan, Willie Nelson, with her performance on Sunday. “I don’t answer unknown numbers, but for some reason I did and it was Matthew,” Musgraves said, recounting the invitation to participate she received over the phone. “Obviously it was a hell yes for me.” “Anything I can do to support and lend a hand,” she said. “I miss ...
Of Dangerous’ 69,000 equivalent album units earned in the tracking week ending March 11, SEA units comprise 64,000 (down 10%, equaling 88.85 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs), album sales comprise 4,000 (down 30%) and TEA units comprise 1,000 (down 9%). Before that, the only other album to spend its first 10 weeks at No. 1 on the chart, which began regularly publishing as a weekly survey in March of 1956, was Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life. Even better than the sweet smell of success? The taste, if you ask Joe Jonas. The musician celebrated his side project DNCE‘s “Cake by the Ocean” reaching a billion streams on Spotify by literally eating McDonald’s off the plaque. “One Billion never tasted so good!” Jonas captioned a March 20 video of himself in a lavish dining room, enjoying the french fries, Chicken McNuggets and a burger that were placed on the music streaming service’s silver platter-shaped plaque marking the achievement. In such a stunning setting, he naturally enjoyed his meal using silverware. “Thank you @Spotify!” The song — released in September 2015 — was the debut single from DNCE. It was included in the group’s self-titl...
Editor’s Note: The following review is part of our coverage of the 2021 South by Southwest Film Festival. Stay tuned for further reviews straight outta Austin — well, virtually, of course. Below, Rachel Reeves checks out Charli XCX’s new doc. The Pitch: Charli XCX, born Charlotte Aitchison, has never been an artist to play by conventional industry rules. Ever since she began posting songs on MySpace in 2008, her avant-garde approach to pop music has rallied fans and defied common practice. Collaborating with everyone from Iggy Azalea, Carly Rae Jepsen and Troye Sivian to Dorian Electra, Brooke Candy and Sophie, her genre-defying sound and conscious approach to inclusivity quickly resulted in a passionate LGBTQIA+ forward fanbase. Then, just as she was wrapping up her 2019 arena-p...
