It’s no secret that the music and culture of the ’70s are big inspirations for Harry Styles. Naturally, the pop star paid tribute to Christine McVie, who died earlier this week at 79, with a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Songbird” at his show in Santiago, Chile last night. “Songbird” was one of the songs written and sung solely by McVie on Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 masterpiece Rumours. Styles doesn’t often play instruments during his shows, but he stayed faithful to the original recording by playing acoustic guitar, backed by a piano. The vocal melodies are also higher than Styles tends to go for in his own songs, but he manages to pull it off exceptionally well. After the song finished, he blew a kiss towards the sky, and from what we’ve seen in clips from the performance, there weren’t many dry e...
Dedicated ARMY veterans will likely be dissecting the set of RM’s NPR Tiny Desk concert for the rest of the month. To celebrate the release of his solo album, Indigo, the BTS rapper born Kim Nam-joon recreated an amazingly detailed replica of the Washington, D.C.-based Tiny Desk office set in South Korea, complete with shelves packed with tasty Easter eggs. But the focus, of course, was on the vocals, which the 29-year-old star delivered on with ease, beginning with the jazzy opening track of his three-song set, “seoul.” The chilled-out bilingual song from RM’s 2018 mono mixtape set a mellow mood for the 18-minute mini-show, complete with warm keyboards and restrained beats from drummer JK Kim. After the opening track, RM said it was about his second home town in South Korea, before introd...
100 gecs are back tenfold: Not only has the cult duo just announced that their next album 10,000 gecs is due out on March 17th, but they’ve surprise released a new called Snake Eyes EP. The three-song Snake Eyes EP includes the first official release of fan-favorite “Hey Big Man,” which 100 gecs have teased as the opener of their more recent live shows. The EP also includes songs “Torture Me” ...

It was a wild ride on season 8 of The Masked Singer, which once again served up its patented mix of non-singing celebs (William Shatner, Jeff Dunham, Mario Cantone, Daymond John, Jerry Springer, Le’Veon Bell, George Foreman, Chris Jericho, Adam Carolla, Linda Blair, Nikki Glaser), veteran pop and R&B singers (Chris Kirkpatrick, Montell Jordan, Gloria Gaynor, Kat Graham, George Clinton and Ray Parker Jr.), as well as some actors who’ve been known to carry a tune (Eric Idle, Brady Bunch trio Christopher Knight, Barry Williams and Mike Lookinland and Joey Lawrence). But in the end, when all the masks came off, it was seasonlong front-runner Harp who plucked her way to the winner’s circle with a commanding run that began on this season’s first episode when she turned P!nk’s “Perfect” into ...
Get ready to learn exactly 73 new facts about Jenny from the block. For Vogue‘s latest “73 Questions” video, Jennifer Lopez opened up about the sequel to one of her movies she’d most like to make (hint: it would also star her husband, Ben Affleck!) and talked about new music, motherhood and more. Wearing khaki trousers and a cropped white button-up, J. Lo started the video by opening her front door to greet Vogue and let viewers in to her Los Angeles home. On a wooden table in her entryway rests a framed photo of her and Affleck, her husband since July of this year, who was the subject of a couple of the “On the Floor” singer’s answers. When asked about who makes her laugh the most between takes on film sets, a small smile spread across Lopez’s face. “My husband,” she said, grinning. “Ben....

Chuu is no longer a member of the K-pop girl group LOONA, and the events surrounding the exit have raised eyebrows in Korea’s media and music industry. Jennifer Lopez is so in love. The singer can’t help but gush about her relationship, and opened up in a new interview on Tuesday (Nov. 29) about her renewed romance with Ben Affleck. Affleck and Lopez got engaged for the second time in April, 20 years after their high-profile romance in the early 2000s when they became known in the press as “Bennifer.” And sitting down for a wide-ranging chat with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Lopez shared that Affleck had a special promise inscribed on her engagement ring. “Not. Going. Anywhere.,” she said. “Because that’s how he would sign his emails when we started talking again. Like, don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.” While the two superstars finally married this past August, their love story also inspired J.Lo’s upcoming ninth studio album, This Is M...
It’s that time of year again, folks. The 2023 Grammy Award nominations are here, and while it’s always fun to see deserving artists receiving shoutouts and industry accolades, the Grammys tend to include some head-scratching decisions, too. The category of Best New Artist, in particular, tends to raise some eyebrows. (The primary question that arises each year: Is this artist actually “new,” or are they perhaps just new to members of the Recording Academy?) With something so subjective, the lines are easily blurred; for example, while it’s incredibly exciting to see Brazilian artist Anitta receiving some attention from the Recording Academy, the singer and songwriter has been releasing music for over a decade; her debut single arrived in 2012. To be fair to the Recording Academy, Anitta di...
