Wilfred Ndidi: Kelechi Iheanacho can’t stop scoring after latest heroics vs West Brom

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi said he is “very proud” of his compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho’s scoring feat after he grabbed a goal in their 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion. Iheanacho’s 36th-minute strike wrapped up the Foxes’ victory at the King Power Stadium following Johnny Evans and Jamie Vardy’s goals. The effort made it 16 goals for the Super Eagles striker across all competitions this season, including nine Premier League goals – a new personal record. In his reaction, Ndidi – who played from start to finish alongside Iheanacho on Thursday night – said the 24-year-old is full of confidence and belief in himself at the moment. “He just can’t stop scoring at the moment, so I’m very happy for him,” Ndidi told LCFC TV. “Very proud. I just want him to keep doing the things and k...

West Ham and Newcastle must move now as manager hints target could be sold

West Ham United and Newcastle United have been given further encouragement in their pursuit of Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong. The 24-year-old has been in fine form for Rovers this season, bagging 22 goals in 40 appearances during the current campaign. He has just over a year left on his current contract, and Rovers manager Tony Mowbray hinted earlier this month that he could be sold this summer. Mowbray has now confirmed that the club could be forced into selling their top assets to fund incoming transfers this summer. With playmaker Bradley Dack currently on the sidelines, Mowbray’s only other hope of raising sizeable funds is by selling Armstrong. In an interview with Lancashire Telegraph, Mowbray outlined his plans for the upcoming transfer window. “We will have to see what th...

West Ham willing to pay up to €45million for summer signing

West Ham are reportedly willing to spend up to €45million on Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri in the summer transfer window. The Hammers have had a brilliant season so far, with the club currently sat fifth in the Premier League table, level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea. Despite that, David Moyes’ striking options have struggled during the campaign. Jesse Lingard, who joined West Ham on loan in the January transfer window, is the club’s joint-top goalscorer with nine goals. Midfielder Tomas Soucek is the other player to have scored nine goals during the current campaign. Meanwhile, Michail Antonio and Sébastien Haller have only managed seven goals each this season. As a result, West Ham have now been linked with Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri. A report from ...

Super League: Everton blast Premier League ‘Big Six’

Everton have launched a furious attack on the six Premier League clubs forming the Super League. The Blues launched an official statement: Issuing a statement on Tuesday morning, the Merseyside club said: “Everton is saddened and disappointed to see proposals of a breakaway league pushed forward by six clubs. “Six clubs acting entirely in their own interests. Six clubs tarnishing the reputation of our league and the game. Six clubs choosing to disrespect every other club with whom they sit around the Premier League table. Six clubs taking for granted and even betraying the majority of football supporters across our country and beyond. “At this time of national and international crisis – and a defining period for our game – clubs should be working together collaboratively with the ideals of...

Both Arsenal strikers out of Everton game, ‘Kroenke Out’ protests expected

Arsenal have provided a fitness update on five players ahead of the Premier League clash against Everton on Friday night. The Gunners recently played out a frustrating 1-1 draw against Fulham at home, and they will be aiming to make amends against the Toffees. Ahead of the game, the club have provided a fitness update on five players, including the front duo of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Aubameyang has been sidelined for the past few games recovering from malaria, and he has not been deemed fit enough to face Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Meanwhile, Alexandre Lacazette is also ruled out for the encounter as the club are still assessing the hamstring strain suffered against the Cottagers. David Luiz and Kieran Tierney are also sidelined with knee injuries, although the for...

Chelsea increase their interest in signing €37m-rated Champions League winner

Chelsea have increased their interest in signing Bayern Munich centre-back Niklas Sule this summer, a report from The Athletic claims. Sule has been with the Bavarian giants since 2017, but he has struggled for regular game time over the past 18 months due to injury concerns and competition for places. His current deal with the club expires in less than 15 months, and the hierarchy have yet to open negotiations regarding a possible contract extension. Both Jerome Boateng and David Alaba will leave at the expiry of their contracts this summer, but Bayern are open to listening to offers for Sule. Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is said to be eyeing a new centre-back, and it is claimed that the club are planning to step up their pursuit of Sule. However, the appointment of Julian Nagelsmann as the m...
