Police arrest two ‘armed robbers’ in Kano
The Police Command in Kano on Wednesday said it arrested two suspected armed robbers who specialised in terrorising residents of Yankaba and Badawa Quarters, Kano. The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to newsmen in Kano. The official residence of the Commandant of the Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA, Major General Sarham Jamil, was on Sunday night gutted by fire. Eye witness say it is not certain which part of the official residence, situated near Sultan Bello Mosque in Unguwar Sarki GRA, the fire started from but flames were sighted around 8pm. He said fierce looking soldiers prevented civilians around Unguwar Sarki from gaining entrance to render assistance. Police arrest kidnapper of ex-Ekiti commissioner
Ekiti Police Command said it has arrested one person in connection with the kidnap of a former Commissioner for Agriculture in the state, Mr Folorunsho Olabode. The suspect was among those paraded by Mr Sunday Abutu, the command’s Public Relations Officer, in Ado-Ekiti for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities. Angry mob set three armed robbers ablaze in Delta
Three suspected armed robbers were set ablaze by an angry mob early Tuesday morning, along Okumagba Avenue in the Warri South council area of Delta state. The Police Command in Rivers has arrested one Daniel George, suspected to be a pirate, over his alleged involvement in the attack on a passenger boat in Bonny waterways. NYSC offers free virus tests for corps members, officials
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ebonyi State has opened its orientation camps for the Batch B Stream 1A with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols. One person was reported dead in a vehicle accident along Osogbo-Ikirun road on Saturday. It was gathered that the Mercedes Benz C-Class vehicle somersaulted after it hits the road median on high speed leading to the death of the driver instantly.
