Nick Cave has opened up on his personal website about his surprise connection to a contestant on Love Island and how the young man’s parents helped him and his family grieve the 2015 death of his son, Arthur. The story was the result of two fairly innocuous inquires from a pair of fans named Maisie and Sharon, who wrote in to The Red Hand Files to ask A) who he wanted to win the current season of the British dating show and B) what the main difference is between him and his wife, Susie Bick. “At the moment, the defining difference between Susie and me is that she watches Love Island, and I don’t,” Cave began. “Susie watches Love Island because we know one of the contestants, Luca. Luca was a school friend of our twins, Arthur and Earl. As a consequence, Susie and I became friends with...
“Love Island” will be back on our screens on June 6 as a new batch of singletons get ready for eight weeks of romance, recoupling, and red hot drama. While finding their ‘type on paper’ might be at the heart of the show, it’s known for serving some fierce fashion, too. This year, in a surprising twist, the show has dumped fast-fashion partnerships, like previous sponsors I Saw It First and Missguided, in order to couple up with the more eco-friendly option, eBay. For “Love Island” 2022, celebrity stylist Amy Bannerman has instead created tailored styling boxes for each Islander as well as a shared wardrobe of preloved clothes for them to wear throughout the show. Designer labels including Moschino, Saint Laurent, and Prada have been sent to the Maj...

Between the national treasure/’90s revival Queer Eye, the Malibu moguls on Selling Sunset, and the charmingly inept Nailed It, Netflix hosts a remarkably diverse array of reality shows at its viewers’ fingertips. There’s one reality series, though, that rises above the rest — the rare bird that’s not only a great reality show, but a timely, vibrant one with a truly exciting premise. I’m talking, of course, about The Circle, whi...
