Neil Young has released the 50th anniversary deluxe reissue of his fourth solo album, Harvest, via Reprise Records. Stream it below via Apple Music. The 3xLP or 3xCD boxset features the Canadian-American singer-songwriter’s signature 1972 album along with three studio outtakes; a previously unreleased BBC performance from February 23rd, 1971; and a documentary called Harvest Time, which compiles two hours of behind-the-scenes material filmed in 1971 between Young’s “Harvest Barn” recording sessions in Northern California and later trips to Nashville and London. The Cure Unveil Wish 30th Anniversary Reissue: Stream

It’s been 30 years since The Cure released their beloved album Wish, and now, the band has shared a 45-track deluxe reissue of the record. Pore over that project below. The Wish reissue combines the original album — remastered by The Cure’s Robert Smith and Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios — with 21 previously unreleased demos, four tracks from The Cure’s 1993 mail-order only cassette Lost Wishes, a previously unreleased song called “A Wendy Band” from the 1992 Manor Studio sessions, an alternate mix of “From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea,” and a previously unheard live version of “End” from 1992. The Van Pelt Announce Vinyl Reissues of First Two Albums

New York City’s The Van Pelt are an influential, but too often overlooked indie rock band whose first two albums — 1996’s Stealing From Our Favorite Thieves and 1997’s Sultans of Sentiment — are cult favorites for many an emo-inclined crate digger. Today, they’ve announced that they’re reissuing remastered editions of those two albums, marking the first time they’ve been pressed to vinyl in over two decades. In addition to the reissues of Stealing and Sultan, The Van Pelt are also releasing two very limited cassette pressings chock-full of demos from the era, both featuring previously unreleased tracks. Beastie Boys’ 1992 album Check Your Head is getting the well-deserved reissue treatment in honor of its 30th anniversary, thanks to the Vinyl Me Please Record of the Month series. Neil Young will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his fourth studio album, Harvest, with a deluxe reissue out on December 2nd via Reprise. Available on 3xLP or 3xCD, the box set will come with the original album; three studio outtakes; a previously unreleased BBC solo performance recorded on February 23rd, 1971; and a documentary called Harvest Time. Also included are a hardbound photo book, posters, and liner notes by photographer Joel Bernstein. The outtakes included in the reissue are “Bad Fog of Loneliness,” “Journey Through the Past,” and “Dance Dance Dance.” Meanwhile, Harvest Time features footage from Young’s “Harvest Barn” sessions in Northern California along with recording sessions in Nashville and London. Sigur Rós Announce 20th Anniversary Reissue of ( ), Share “Dauðalagið” (The Death Song): Stream

Sigur Rós are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their third studio album, ( ), with a new reissue arriving digitally on October 27th. As a preview, they’ve shared the first single, a remastered version of “Untitled #7” (aka “Dauðalagið” or “The Death Song”). Stream it below. The 20th anniversary edition of ( ) was remastered by legendary engineer Ted Jenson at Sterling Sound. In addition to previously unreleased material, it features rarities and demos including unheard studio sessions of existing tracks and two B-Sides from the original “Untitled 1” single. The 10th anniversary of good kid, m.A.A.d city is quickly approaching, and Kendrick Lamar is honoring the occasion with a special reissue of his legendary sophomore LP. For a limited time, good kid, m.A.A.d city will now be available with a special alternate cover, featuring the van from the original deluxe edition’s artwork against a solid black backdrop. As for the wax itself, the double-LP in this issue comes pressed on translucent black vinyl. It’s unclear as of right now whether the 10th anniversary edition of Lamar’s major-label debut features any extra bonus tracks, but we can all pretty much agree that the initial tracklist — which includes highlights like “Money Trees,” “Backseat Freestyle,” and “m.A.A.d city” — is worth owning in a physical format. Queens of the Stone Age to Reissue Debut Album with Original Tracklist and Artwork

Queens of the Stone Age are reissuing their acclaimed self-titled debut as well as two other albums. The band’s 1998 self-titled LP will be back in print for the first time in a decade. Available on October 21st, the vinyl reissue will feature the album’s original tracklist and artwork by Frank Kozik. It’ll be pressed on both standard black and limited edition opaque orange vinyl. Wolfgang Van Halen Announces Deluxe Edition of Debut Mammoth WVH Album, Shares “Talk & Walk”: Stream

Mammoth WVH’s 2021 self-titled debut album is receiving a digital deluxe edition on November 11th with three additional songs, including the Japanese-only bonus track “Talk & Walk” that is now streaming. Considering Wolfgang Van Halen spent many years self-recording the album, it makes sense that there’s a few worthy additional tracks. “Talk & Walk” is a particularly fun tune, shifting from twinkly arpeggios to grungy ’90s power-pop that harkens back to early Foo Fighters. According to the press release, the song was occasionally played during Mammoth WVH’s 2021 tour and became an immediate fan favorite. Bruce Springsteen Announces Nebraska 40th Anniversary Vinyl Reissue

Bruce Springsteen is celebrating the 40th anniversary of his sixth studio album, Nebraska, with a special vinyl reissue. Originally released on September 30th, 1982, Nebraska is Vinyl Me, Please’s Essentials Record of the Month for October 2022. The reissue was pressed on exclusive Black Smoke vinyl, with an art print by Justin A. McHugh. It was half-speed mastered by renowned recording engineer Barry Grint (Madonna, Sean Combs, The Beatles). The Police Announce Ghost in the Machine Vinyl Reissue

The Police are revisiting their 1981 album Ghost in the Machine by reissuing the LP on a limited edition vinyl picture disc. The project arrives on November 4th. The Ghost in the Machine reissue features The Police’s originally intended tracklisting for the album, as well as three additional tracks: “I Burn for You,” which first appeared on the soundtrack to Brimstone and Treacle, “Once Upon a Daydream,” and “Shambelle.” Four more songs, “Spirits in the Material World,” “Rehumanize Yourself,” “One World (Not Three),” and “Hungry for You,” now include the original audio of drummer Stewart Copeland counting in the tracks. Alice in Chains’ seminal 1992 album Dirt is receiving a 30th anniversary vinyl reissue and boxset. The announcement comes right after the band launched its tour with Breaking Benjamin and Bush. The trek picks back up tomorrow (August 13th) in Syracuse, New York, and runs through October 8th in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Get tickets via Ticketmaster.
