The National Emergency Management Agency says the simulated terrorists attack on the Moshood Abiola National stadium, Abuja is to prepare relevant agencies for coordinated emergency response. Troops launch major rescue operation for kidnapped Kebbi students

A major rescue operation is ongoing for the kidnapped students and teachers of the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State. Over 100 people, the majority of them girls, and five teachers, were kidnapped last week after bandits stormed the school. Top security sources told newsmen that some of the students had been rescued by troops. The remaining abducted students, the source said, had been split into five groups by the bandits, who had now been surrounded by troops. The troops have however not stormed the locations so that the girls will not be caught in the crossfire or killed by the bandits. “They have been surrounded by troops but they are negotiating so that the girls would not be killed,” the source said. Six killed, 10 injured in Bauchi-Kano Highway crashes

Six people have been killed in multiple crashes that occurred on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 4.05pm involving a vehicle belonging to Zamfara State Government and two other vehicles. Ten other people were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries in the crash that involved 16 people. The crash happened at Gumero Village about 15 kilometres to Kafin Madaki, Ganjuwa Local Government Area, along Bauchi – Kano Highway in Bauchi State. Nigerian Army: Troops in pursuit of abductors of Kagara school staff, students

The Nigerian Army says its troops have been mobilised in pursuit of abductors of kidnapped members of staff and students of Government Science School, Kagara, Niger. The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Yerima, announced this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja. Yerima said that the Nigerian Army had renewed efforts to ensure swift response to the unfortunate incident. LASEMA: Two died, six injured in a four vehicles accident

Two persons died on the spot while four others were seriously injured in an accident along Anthony-inward-Gbagada on Tuesday night in Lagos. The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed this to newsmen on Wednesday. Oke-Osanyintolu said LASEMA received distress calls on the accident, around 10.30 p.m. on Tuesday. He added that four vehicles were involved in the accident, comprising two tipper-lorries, one petroleum tanker and one commercial bus.
